Hey, I actualy tried for my first time today also.
All it was, was an intense high and I sweated a lot. I wanted to just not do anything and 5 minutes later I wanted to go to bed and sleep forever lol. I had 20x blueberry and it tasted like straight shit, smoked half of it with a homie and he said I had bugs crawling out of my arms but I didnt hallucinate at all. I dont want the rest either, I threw down 10 bucks for it and it cost 26.99. Biggest waste of money ever. It does get you high, got me REALLY high but it wasnt fun at all..

Salvia is an experience, thats for sure... lol.

Best to do in a quiet/silent room, in a VERY relaxed mood. You have to let go 100%, you can't hold the high back or it will KICK YOU IN THE NUTS WITH STEEL TOE BOOTS. Accept that you are who/where you are and roll with it, the ONLY way to enjoy the salvia high... it can be very enlightening.

best way:
work your way UP from the leaves, don't jump right into 20x
bong
torch lighter - keep the heat on for the entire hit
the BIGGEST hit you can handle for AS LONG AS you can hold it... done properly you wont recall exhaling or it'll hit you while you exhale.

Salvia isn't something I would suggest doing everyday... or every week... its pretty intense. My last trip with lady salvia was a few months ago and I'm almost ready to go back... last time was an insane 100% out of body/forgot what body was experience. Was awesome until I tried to "get back" (something like killing your weed high for a sec while talking to someone you dont want to know your high, if that makes sense).... there was nowhere to go "back" to... lol

Chewing it can be a great experience though - much more mild. Something I'd like to combine with some good herb one day.

I'd recommend some fortified leaf for you. They're leaves that have about a 10x or 15x extract fortified on top of what's already in the leaf. Takes a LOT less to get there (only a few leaves), and it will be a full experience.

And to everyone else... Salvia divinorum is not an experience for everybody. It's unpredictable, intense (when smoked), and can be extremely disorienting. About 50% of the people who try it never want to do it again. It's a very unique plant, I'll say that much.

Hey guys I've heard of salvia before but people have always told me it won't get you high. Reading all your expierience i see that it will but what is it? From reading what yous wrote I gather it is a plant. But what exactly in it gets you high and is it supposed to be a hallucinogenic?

Salvia Divinorum is a plant closely related to a common ornamental plant grown in many gardens (called salvia officinalis) and is in the mint family. But it's very unique. All of the Salvia D. strains in existence today are quite likely descended from perhaps two plants that were selected hundreds or even thousands of years ago for their psychadelic properties, and grown by the Mazatec people of central Mexico for shamanic ritual purposes. This is the reason you see "salvia cuttings" everywhere. Because it's been cloned for so many generations, it rarely, if ever drops seeds. Let alone seeds that are actually viable and will grow. The Mazatec people cultivate it and eat the leaves (no, they don't smoke them) for spiritual journeys at certain times of the year under special circumstances. The plant was "discovered" (or discovered for science, rather) by ethnobotanist Gordan Wasson. In an ironic twist of fate, nearly all of the Salvia out there is descended from two plants collected at different times. A few rare crops have dropped seeds, creating new strains, but these are not generally available outside of psychadelic circles.

What gets you "high" is not an alkaloid, like most other natural hallucinogens. It's a molecule, plain and simple. And it's structurally different from ever other natural hallucinogen, and the most potent. Only a few synthetic psychadelics (such as LSD-25) are more potent. But make no mistake, it's nothing like LSD, despite the misinformation the media consistently pumps out about it. It's not scientifically understood how it has the effects it does, but obviously it does. And it doesn't get you "high", unless you use miniscule amounts. It can easily be a full blown psychadelic experience when used properly, though it is short in duration. It can be very spiritually or personally beneficial, but for others, a full-blown experience can be absolutely unsettling, and even terrifying for a few. It is unpredictable in nature, and should not be taken by people, in my opinion, that are not informed or are simply using it as a party drug. This is the reason that most other psychadelics are illegal and can no longer be used for research or spiritual purposes, and part of the reason Salvia is quickly becoming prohibited. Irresponsible use by irresponsible people who cannot maturely handle it. If you are planning on using it, just remember set and setting- these things are of the utmost importance, especially since Salvia can cause an instantaneous full-blown disconnection with your environment and even with your ego (sense of self). And yes, there are visual effects from it, as well as the "psychic effects" I just described. Apologies if I sound a bit preachy, but seriously, stupid people constantly screw it up for the rest of us. It is a wonderful plant, and very unique, like I said. It would be a shame to loose the ability to explore it before we even had a chance. Oh, and like virtually every other psychadelic, it's not dangerous, despite what you've been told. I hope that answers your questions, but I'm perfectly happy to try to answer any other specific questions you have. Be well, and be safe.

I think tomorrow I'm gonna go try some salvia. Are there different brands or just one? What potency should I get? 15x, 20x?

Um, plenty of brands. If you're talking about strains, the two earliest collected plants make up 90% of the Salvia being cloned around the world. But as far as extracts go, get 15x or 20x. Anything more is probably too much, especially for your first time. Remember, the extracts are standardized, which means that the amount of Salvinorin-A present in a certain amount is approximately fifteen or twenty times more when in the form of an extract. You can get pretty damn out there on just two bowls of good quality whole leaf. Just sprinkle a little bit of the extracts on a tiny amount of bud. Just keep in mind they have a synergistic effect, so it might be a bit more intense than usual. ;-) But you have to put the extract on something smokeable, vapourize it, use a DMT pipe, etcetera- or else it will be wasted.

Start small, test your limits, and repeat if you feel up to it. You'll probably want to wait a while between smoking sessions though. Most people do.

could you grow salvia outside? where would you find seeds
Yes, you can, but Salvia is very particular about its climate. It likes tropical to sub-tropical climates, and a good amount of humidity. Though I'm sure part of the reason the plants only thrive inititally in humidity is because they're all inbred; they need a little extra help.

I suppose I wasn't coherent enough before... There are no seeds. 99% of Salvia is grown from clones because it's so inbred it doesn't drop seeds, or if it does, they are almost always not viable. The extremely rare ones that do produce plants produce new strains. Ones you're probably not going to have much luck finding. Salvia is a strange little plant.

I have experience some very "interesting" feelings with Salvia...And even more strange is what I have seen others experience...I have seen a guy dance with the elf's before, no joke, dude was with the elfs you guys. And another guy pass out into deep sleep and start to snore before he even exhaled. I remember telling the guy to take as big of hit as he could out of this bong, and he got half way through and pulled back. Just as I was thinking "what a waste" then guy starts snoring! The room goes silent, while about 5-6 people stare with eye's of wonder. Wondering what the Fuck! We debated for awhile if we should wake him, OH yeah, his hands went into praying Mantis and right before he slipped into his dream he said "NO". Not a good sign I thought....Anyhow, after about 5 min. of people almost puking from laughing so hard, we shook him abit, he started to wake up and his hands relaxed abit, and he spoke in tongue then the hands went back into prayer while exiting this world again...We all decided to leave him alone for the time being after that...He awoke 15 min later with out any recalection of what had just happened to him...Verrry strange stuff salvia is......be ready for your buddy to go to the other side....

Just tried salvia for my first time today, 101x :) at first I wanted to be careful cuz I'd heard some pretty weird stories about people using 40 and 60x, and here I was with 101x, so I took a small hit and stuff became more ammusing the more I thought about them, but I wasn't really trippin, so I took a big hit. Then I couldn't stop laughing and saying the most random stuff ever cuz it was all funny. then I actually thought I was retarded, and me and my friend who had also done it started talking in like retard language but we understood eachother.... then I blacked out and had weird dreams for a couple hours. Strange trip altogether, but kinda fun. I'm sure I'll try it a few more times

ive been smokein it on and off for years now, the coolest thing about it to me is that it works backwards to most things that get you "high". the more you smoke it the less it takes to get you "high". and how completely random everything is after that first hit. no 2 trips are the same for me. i smoked some a few months ago and got giggley as a school girl, the time before that i just passedout with my face on fire. (any1 else that smoked it get that face on fire feeling?)
