Hi Guys, have there been many ozzies sufferng with off gassing in tents bought mid last year?

Are there any good retailers here selling decent non PVC tents?

where abouts are you man i live in sydney and have a 2m x 2m x 2m tent i wanna get rid off
i have had no problems with it all only 3mths old

If you look at the list of Retailers, they each have a website at the far right. The first one Hanf & Hanf is in english too. That whole list of retailers are official Homebox retailers and ship to Australia. :bigjoint:

He lives in Australia, not Austria, and they don't sell them here, (Australia)

Your best option here is ebay, under home-hydroponics.

There's some mylar tents at reasonable prices.

Thanks guys that ebay shop is where I bought my last tent... It is one that has white lining. Does the off gass occur in the mylar ones on ebay?

stick it back on ebay get 1 with mylar silver lining i have 1 havent noticed any funny smells/gas going off plants seem ok

IMO Too much is made of the offgassing issue. If you are not running with a sealed room (AC, CO2, etc) then it is not big deal.

Yes it is a big deal, if you have one of the bad tents.

Be Careful with Ebay. Thats where all the bad tents are being sold. After all the reputable companies did a recall, like hydro hut, the offgassing tents were still getting sold on Ebay.

Its the older white PVC lined tents. None of the mylar tents have ever had any issues. Just dont buy old, no-name brand PVC lined tents.

ether you get lucky or you dont.. i have lost months trying to get a grow out of my tent... took them out an all the sudden they are starting to grow.

Im guessing you dont run a 600 or 1000w light. And I would also guess that your light never gets anywhere near the walls?

If you threw a 600 or 1000w light in your $99 ebay tent theres a chance it could kill your plants If you cant keep the temps in check.

High temps kill plants anyway. I am running 400W in 20"x36". That's 11,000 lumens per sq ft. First couple of days the tent smelled like plastic but I ran my tent for a week before I put a plant in it. No plastic smell at all anymore. Exhaust is the key. Even if the plastic continues to offgass small amounts over time if you are removing the air with a fresh supply intake I don't see how it would be that big of deal.

They certainly needed to be changed and I applaud the manufacturers who did the voluntary recalls but I just think too much is made of it.

it is a big deal,when someone sells pvc tents that are killers it is a big deal,and why have a tent if you cant close it,ive lost more then i care to mention to off gassing,the pvc made in china tents are garbage why would any one support them.if they want to make crap with out haveing to pay damages that is a big deal.so any one out their save your self the headache and do not bye them,bye the mylar lined ones and dont support some low life selling tents you cant keep closed.
