Newbie 150W HPS Closet Grow

So this will be my first time attempting to grow dank, delicious, fuzzy nuggets.

I just ordered the seeds, should get here in five to eight days. Going to buy a 150W HPS any day now.

Hopefully I should have everything up and running by february 1st, I'll post pictures of my soon to be complete grow room by the end of the week.

**Feel free to comment in my thread, would like all the help I can get, anything you see in my photos or comments are subject to critique.

If you've grown northern lights before feel free to comment on any nuances of the plant I should be aware of.

So I just got my grow room partially set-up. Still waiting on seeds and lights but should be getting them soon. I'll post pictures of my basic set-up on sunday most likely.

The humidity in my growing space is around 20% and I know that ideally it should be around 50-60%, however I have also read a lot of posts by people that things like low humidity can stress the plant forcing it to develop more THC and crystals.

If anyone is an expert on the subject please respond.

You're gonna want it to go up during the seedling and veg state, then back down for flowering. I had about 20% humidity in my grow room, so I put the seedlings in a humidity dome, with a sponge that soaks up the excess water, and holds it in to raise the humidity.

Me and you are on a bout the same page. I just started my first grow with a 150w HPS too, so I'll be checkin in here often

Well so far four out of five seeds have sprouted. I finally got some pictures of my low budget setup, and my (hopefully) girls. These were taken about a couple of hours after they poked through the soil.

Also since I am already strapped for cash I couldn't buy a grounded light timer, so if anyone has any electrical experience or just applicable experience please look at the picture of my timer and tell me if it's going to burn my place down. It's just a regular walmart timer with a two-to-three prong conversion thingy. I haven't used it yet, and have just been letting the lights run 24/7, however by flowering time I need to have this figured out.

I'll put some more pictures up when one or two leaf sets develop.

They grew like an inch over night so I felt to compelled to upload another picture.

Oh, and one of the plant's first two fan leaves are pointing up like a V, I feel like that plant was the first to grow, so its not that they haven't settled down yet. I was wondering if thats a sign of stretching or lack of water or something, if someone knows let me know.

So after a week this is what we're looking at. Things look alright by my untrained eye.

However, one of the plants has a 'retarded' leaf for lack of a better word. It's one of the round leaves, and it just seems kind of gimpy, it's smaller than the other ones and is pinching in a little bit near the end.

If anyone has seen this before and has any advice it would be welcome. I might just be a little overbearing right now and need to chill.

So the plants are developing their next set of leaves. They look pretty healthy. So I decided to do a little sexy photo shoot a little earlier than I expected to.

The one in the right foreground was a little droopy and bent over, but I added a quarter inch of worm castings to the topsoil and watered her, and she seemed to respond, her stem straightened out and her leaves look a little better.

Two out of the four ladies seem to have a little curling near the bottom of their jagged leaves (forgot the name of them), I don't know if it's moisture stress, heat or what, but I have upped the ventilation bringing the temp from around 82-83.5F to around 78-80F. I also have been laying off the water, I'm going to let them get a little thirstier before I relieve them. And previously I had been letting them sit under the light 24/7, but I'm going to start allowing them six hours of rest a night starting tonight.

Hopefully that will help them perk up a bit, even though they've been looking pretty stable today. Peace.

Eh, I decided to water them. I feel like maybe the moisture is evaporating too quickly for their little leaves handle, but no more water till sunday.

I can't do it tonight, I just put them to bed. And I'll have to post it tomorrow right before the lights turn on because I get all these black lines from my HPS when I try to shoot them in the light.

I had my plants on a platform, and I think they had a little heat stress, so I moved them from around 12 inches away to about 24 inches away. I don't know I did the hand check and it wasn't hurting my hand but the edges of the leaves were curling up a tad.

It's really dry where I am, so I have a humidifier to keep it around 45-55% otherwise it would sink to 20% humidity, that has a fan in it that blows cool air towards the light and I also have just a house fan, that I flip on whenever it gets too close to 83 F in there (which has pretty much been all the time lately.) Temps hanging out around 79-82F. Thanks for the interest bro.

Here are some photos of the grow room, and I threw in some new ones of my ladies for fun.

Some of the blades have random blades growing out of them its really weird. It's asymmetrical and some of the plants don't have them, its strange.

I also included a picture of one of my plants which has a leaf that looks like its going to split in two, it has like a cleft leaf. I don't know what's causing it or how to treat it.
