Can I run a RO system off a 1100 GPH Pump?

I have a RO/DI system.
I wish to run it off a 1100 EcoPlus pump.

Has anyone tried this? Does it have enough power?

does your system not have the specs on it?
Alot of those things on there can only filter and have the water ready at X rate.

Can you run an RO system off an 1100 GPH pump?!, that equals an 18GPM pump, Jesus Christ!, a garden hose at full blast is about 4GPM. How much water do you need each minute?!...sorry. Unless this pump you speak of is really heavy, (like, uncomfortable to lift heavy), you are miss interpreting the the information you are giving. How big is your RO/DI system?, does it have a reservoir? if so, how big? (if no reservoir then, NO, without a reservoir I can only assume the system is very small and that much pressure would damage your filters), do you have kidney problems? is that why you have a deionized water system readily available? , How are you connecting it to your water supply? is this for a hydroponic of soil garden? how big is this garden? should I continue?... Sorry, I have so many follow up questions.... Honestly, I wish I had an RO/DI system.. lucky bastard. where did you get it?

I have 3 55 gallon drums. I fill one from the well. One for waste water and one for "Clean" water.

The unit has no reservoir. It is a 75 gpd unit. I tried a 396 GPH pump but that would not push the water through the last filter. I have no idea the pressure the
EcoPlus 1100 puts out.

The specs call for 50 psi or greater. This is for hydroponic. The water out of the well is 750 ppm.
The unit only cost 129.00. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/RO/DI-Filters-&-Systems-RO/DI-Systems/c9_10/p603/Economy-4-stage-RO/DI-unit/product_info.html

Can't seem to find much info on the eco plus pump! Does anyone own one of these and have the box? Could you post the specs?

hell brotha, give it a try. like reggie said, it sounds like overkill. I'd think that smaller pump woulda worked. ah well, the unit was cheap enough that if you blow it apart you can probably replace it, hopefully its still under warranty :D

No, It will not blow it up. Unit made to withstand high psi.

That is the problem. I don't have enough PRESSURE with the small pump to PUSH the water through the last membrane.

I am not sure the 1100 GPH will work.

You won't get 50 PSI out of an affordable Mag-Drive Pump. These pumps are made to reliably move water at low pressure. You'll want a diaphragm pump. Look into Flo-Jets.
