Aurora Indica Smoke Report

Hello all! This is a report about my first harvest Aurora Indica. When growing this i noticed there wasnt too many threads about this strain. So, I'm writting this so in case other people who are interested in A.I. could read this to help them out maybe.

Seeds:
10 pack from Nirvana

Medium:
Fox Farm ocean forest

Nutes:
Fox Farm grow big, tiger bloom, big bloom

The High:
It's a nice sedating high. I believe i should of waited another week or so before harvesting. The body high is nice and i like how its not overpowering. with some indica's when you smoke it you cant even think or speak youre just like "duhhh..." but with this thoughts flowed like water and you were still able to hold a conversation. i believe this is due to the time of harvest. I kind of wish i didnt jump the gun.

Finally i find someone experienced with aurora indica ive been thinking a long time to order me some seeds... I have alot of questions bro! hehe :)
Like for how long did you grow it veg? and flowering? and also how much yield did you get per plant? im gonna be growing in atami wilma hydro system it has 8 11liter pots and im using a 600watt HPS. So im thinking how much i could yield from one plant ive heard it a good yielder but never talked to anyone with growing experience.
One more thing you were talking about the high i thought it was supposed to be the strongest indica out there but your describing kind of smooth smoke some people ive spoken to say that they just got knock out by this stuff! Ive also red that its used for people who are hyperactive or with insomnia so...maybe thats just a bad sales trick.
But like you said probable just due to the time you harvested.

Like for how long did you grow it veg? well one was vegged for 4 weeks and one was vegged for 5 weeks. and flowering? They were both flowered for 8 weeks but i think they could of gone nine at least. i harvested too soon. lol i got excited it was my first growand also how much yield did you get per plant? I got about 26 oz for both plants so thats an average of 13 per plant keep in mind mine were grown under floros and were very short. one was 13 inches and the other was 15 i think im gonna be growing in atami wilma hydro system it has 8 11liter pots and im using a 600watt HPS. i think youll harvest way more than me. you have a 600w hps AND using hyrdo. and a little side note... the smell is kinda lemony spicy and the taste is lemony and spicy and woody. but im sick and my taste buds and nose is kinda fucked up. but thats what i can get

and for the ratio... i germed 7 seeds. 5 popped. and then out of those five 3 were female and then out of those i got three different phenotypes.
1. tall and skinny
2. very short and dense
3. just completely fucked up. grew tallest but did not flower hardly at all. i just chopped it and tried making hash...

hope this helps man. start a grow log id love to follow long.

these plants are very hardy too. :bigjoint:

Wow! 26 oz from two plants are you for sure! thats like 700 grams! and thats a whole lot of weed from two plants that size...
I only dream i will get that amount of weed from my plants do ypu have any photos of your plants?
You say its a hardy at what level you think? this is my third grow but first in hydro so...
Also do you think it's a good strain to take cutting from? actually i have two setups like that and a space where i keep my mother plant and cuttings its like three stations :) and was thinking of SOG for them, you think its a good strain for that?
But still i cant believe the amount of weed you got from those plants are you not shitting me? cuz thats amazing...

You say its a hardy at what level you think? well this was my first grow and two of my plants survived overwatering and some kind of nute def. i never figured it out and i cut off a whole bunch of fan leaves at one point leaving very little when it was a seedling and it bounced back in a week and became my favorite. there were no bug or mold problems. i could abuse these pants and they wont die but why would you wanna do thatthis is my third grow but first in hydro so...
Also do you think it's a good strain to take cutting from? I actually took 4 clones from one of my plants while it was in its third week of flowering. they took about a week or 2 to root cuz i had to have them revert back to veg. only three rooted but that was my fault cuz i accidentally snapped one in half. but as soon as they rooted i put them back in 12/12 cuz it was only a small closet grow and i only had space for a veg or flower... (when i put the clones to reveg i had them in a box under my grow table that was light proof and with only one 26w cfl.) it was my first time taking clones and i had pretty much100% sucess rate if it werent for me snapping the one.actually i have two setups like that and a space where i keep my mother plant and cuttings its like three stations :) and was thinking of SOG for them, you think its a good strain for that? ive never done sea of green but i can imagine it would be because they stay short and i dunno if its just me but they have very little side growth. mine grew just basically one big cola. ill find some links of my other threads and youll see what i mean.

and a note about those clones... at my peak right before harvest i had 8 plants going. a nice little set up with 2 different strains. theyre were all in 12/12. it was my little experiement to see what would get me the most yeild from 12/12. i had the three clones i was lollipopping those. i had 2 ppp's one was being lst and the other was being topped. but due to some shitty events i had to get rid of them. but no no dont cry... i gave them so someone i know who grows and has a better set up. hes been doing it for years. he was real pissed at me when he found out my litttle experiments (doing everything fro, 12/12) i mean he got 5 free plants out of it so shut the fuck up ya know. and he ruined my experiment. he untied the ppp getting lst and put it back in veg... and the other ppp is in veg too... but he is giving me the weed from them so i guess its not a total loss...

i just trimmed my second plant of aurora. took both, at 59 days. at 55 days, i was strarting to get a few foxtails springing out of the side of the cola. lol. i love it. and about day 45, my leaves were starting to go purple. by harvest, it was very purple. id say i got 2+ oz off each. but, since this strein does not stretch much, im going to make sure, next time, that i have larger plants that go into flower. see my album for pics. i love this plant. self supporting. likes to not be topped. not too wide, so it fits easy. early harvest. and DANK AS HELL. its a keeper, at least my pheno.

Hi blindbaby this thread is from February of 2009. So I'm not sure you'll hear back from the OP. But I am growing AI as are quite a few others around here. I'm currently in clone generation 4 and they will flip on Monday.

I would LOVE to see pictures of your AI. Mine are in my 2 grow journals in my sig. If you'd like to see them. I found Nirvana's AI to be more like a Sativa than an Indica. Mine have very long slender leaves and the high is very much like a Sativa. So this is going to be their last run with me. Oh and mine have foxtailed at the end each time.
