Well everyone has diff methods. Mine has worked about 90-95%.
Take a couple paper towels fold em over label w/ sharpie. Soak em then let extra water run off. So they should be pretty damp. Place seeds inside fold over again. Then you need somewhere dark, I use a DVD case. It's perfectly dark in there, then place on a warm source maybe ontop a tv or something, just be careful when it comes to electronics and moisture. All my seeds have cracked in 24 hrs. and tap roots show in 24-72 hrs.
EDIT: If you have a propagation mat, that works just fine for the heat source
If you maintain an 80 degree temp, expect 80% female germ rate, if you don't let roots to feel/get confined.
man i just cracked em with a presoak for 24 hours then putting them in soil. in 16 ounce cups with holes poked. keep them generously wet, black, and wait a day or 2.
I put a 2nd cup over the other one to serve as a mini greenhouse.
ha.... thats like saying most plants grown in nice tropical weather will be femaleI like to place seeds in fridge for at least 24 hours, to give them a feel of wintering out the natural cold winder. Then setting out at room temp for 4 or so hours )Spring is coming), then soaking in warm water for 4 to 12 hours, then doing the paper towel thing. The paper towel & city water has chems in them. I wash the paper towel in non-chem water first, 80 degrees, and place warm towel & warm seeds on warm plate, & cover with another plate, & place in constant 80 degrees temp. I started putting the seeds/paper towels in zip lock bags, the in dark, warm spot. If you maintain an 80 degree temp, expect 80% female germ rate, if you don't let roots to feel/get confined.
wet paper towels in a dvd case works great, its easy and almost 100% success rate. just soak the paper towels and fold them up and put the case on a warm surface and u'll be finei take it germinating is a touchy subject. lol
You'll find out soon enough that germinating isn't the only sore subject in these waters.i take it germinating is a touchy subject. lol
