i no plenty of people who have recieved spoer syringes in the mail safely, the big thing your gonna have to watch out for is contamination you gotta be really clean and really careful cuz you can fuck up your whole colony with the smallest amount of bacteria (which could poossibly cause death if consumed) i would invest in a pressure cooker

My only concern with having spores mailed is security and having it sent in the mail has always seemed sketchy to me personally so I have always got my spores else where but I don't doubt that various mycology sites offer quality spores compared to getting them off people you know. I've always been paranoid with mailing in general tho.

Hell no. Make your own, read read and read unless you want to spend $100-500 on something that does the exact same thing but only cost $50 at the most.
http://universityscientific.com/ is a stupid rip off site of noobs. Do NOT order from them. As you can see they charge $100's of times more than what you can get the same thing for cheeper.
They sell growing mats that shouldn't be used in mycology and there's a lot of reasons not to.
I can get that same kind of thermometer at walmart for half the price and can be recalibrated.

I can get that scale for literally $5-10 on ebay brand new.
That horse dung is a rip off. You can get it at someone who has horses, come prepared with a shovel bag or truck, be straight forward and polite, tell them you're composting for your garden or moms garden. O nice, they're telling you to put the manure into a jar with 'polyfill' and inject it with spores, what a great way to contaminate your project. Oz per Oz there is no substitute of nutrients than grain.
Shiitake has no potency.
The Mushroom Grinder is really just a coffee grinder overpriced.
All the agars,peptones and mixes are good but overpriced. 1 Qt of already sterilized just needs to be heated up MEA 500ML is $20 when really that jar cost about $2 including the lid, the agar cost $3 and the malt cost like $3. Such a ripoff for $20...
The brown rice can be bought at your local grocery store, make sure it's organic, grind it in a high powered coffee grinder.
The spores are good though. Better cultures from sporeworks.

I thought about it but seeing as I already know people who also grow and I'm pretty tight with them it only made sense to get my spores from them as opposed to going through the hassle of ordering and what not. But I don't need spores anymore so it's become a non-issue for me.
