YBOR CITY, FL -- The Air Force is confirming a Patriot Missile was found in a Tampa area scrap yard.

Tampa Police received a call from workers who believed they'd discovered a torpedo on July 11th. TPD's bomb squad unit was sent to Scrap-All Inc. on East 4th Avenue in Ybor City to investigate.

No one knows where the missile came from, but investigators say the device was not active and was missing its warhead and guidance chips.

An explosive ordinance was called in to transport the missile to MacDill Air Force Base, where it will be used for training exercises. Tampa Police and the Air Force say there is no need to investigate where the missile came from, because it was so old and posed no threat to the public.

After hours Wednesday, 10 News was unable to reach the owners of the scrap yard for comment.

But how the missile got to Scrap All Inc. and who took it there remains a mystery. Nobody has claimed ownership. The two manufacturers -- Lockheed Martin and Raytheon -- that have made Patriots since the 1970s for the U.S. Army and allied nations said it's probably not theirs.

Normally I would laugh my ass off at that, but this thing was found almost in my back yard......that's some scary shit man. I just wonder where the warhead went (seriously) and who is planning to use it you know:neutral:

That's what I'm saying man. The Military is saying it isn't theirs, so where the fuck did it come from? The government should be worried about 1 of 2 things:

1) If it is theirs, how the hell did it get there and how did they lose track of it?

or

2) If it is not theirs, how the hell did it get there and where the hell did it come from?

and finally

Where the hell is the warhead and guidance systems?

yeah and if it isnt the gov's, where did it come from, and how in the hell did it get here? If I was in the FBI I would start an independent case on this shit, I mean they will if somebody blows the fuckin white house up! If only Mr. Prez was there when it happened......Just kidding, but seriously!

Yeah I understand what you're saying but how many people ya know have bags of warheads laying around the house. It was totally unexpected thats why it was the shizzle:hump:

Some collector probably junked it, it is perfectly legal to collect demilitarized weapons you know, plus I wouldnt wory bout the warhead too much those things 95% of the time carried conventional explosives, I can make a U-haul truck to make just as much bang,5% was chemical or biological , but its a slim chance, I wouldnt panic just yet.
