sadly i have here in colorado. i caught a 2 year probation with about 5000 in court fines for it. 48 hours of drug classes and a 15 month drivers license suspension. i got into an argument with my half-sister and she thought to show me how it is by calling the cops.
That sucks dude. What did you get caught with?

The one thing you guys need to keep in mind when dealing with the cops, is that they don't always KNOW what a legal search warrant is. Lawyers read up on court cases, and keep things in line, cops don't do that. So a cop might not know that it's illegal to take an IR camera into a helicopter and fly it over some houses.
If cops ended up using illegal search methods to find your grow up, the odds are if you had a good lawyer you could get out of it, or at least get it reduced down to petty offenses. But, there is still a chance that the DA won't budge, and the Judge will crack down on you despite the illegal search.
This entire process costs thousands of dollars anyway, so you would be better off playing it safe 100% of the time. Don't fuck with your security, because once you lose it you can't get it back.

here is what happened to me yesterday.
-- Patrol officers were sent looking for a missing 5-year-old boy at a home Tuesday, and they found not only the child, but 68 marijuana plants growing in the basement, according to the County Sheriffs Office.
Police arrested Joseph , 28, and Kenneth , 24, both of 4 Drive, in connection with the incident.
Joseph faces misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and violating the state public health law for growing marijuana.
Kenneth is charged with misdemeanor counts of unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for having propoxyphene, a narcotic drug he didnt have a prescription for.
The child was found hiding in a closet.
The men were released on appearance tickets and will return to the town court at a later date.
i deleted me and my brothers last name, and the town we live in. I couldnt find my son and valued him more than my plants. Stupid decision, now my x wife wont give him back... im fucked

i thought someone took him, my dad heard the garage door open and the dog bark while he was in the bathroom, i was 25 min away dropping my daughter off. I was way more concerned about finding my kid than the plants.

Look man don't get the wrong idea here. I do not think you deserve to be going through this and you have my sympathies, your situations sucks. But if you truly valued your son more than your plants why did you put yourself in a situation where you knew getting busted would probably end with your son being taken away from you?

I respect that you valued your kid over your plants .... but if that was really true you would have known that if you got busted for growing those plants you could go to jail. If you went to jail you wouldn't be able to be there for the kid. So if you really valued the kid over the plants you wouldn't have grown in the first place.
Criticism aside, I feel for you bro. And given the situation I think you probably did the right thing, even though it was still stupid and fucked up.

just a few months ago i got the cops called on my grow by the landlord, the cops called me on my cell and said they were at my house and needed to check out my grow to make sure i wasnt over the limit (i was by 1 plant) the sheriff looked through the garden counted away and said she wasnt concerned with 1 plant and left my house empty handed, thank you prop 215

man i hate living here. this su bject really gets me goin. i would gladly move to amsterdam if i could talk my wife into it. we are already talking about moving to CA so i can be a little more legal. the confiscating of property is a crime agianst our constitution. father in-law used o be coast guard and yold me they confiscated a 250,000 yacht because they found a roach inside, this is about 20 years ago. U.S. sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
