~~I was germing my 100$ seeds,but the paper DRIED!!!Am I ok,Or Ruined?!!~

ok,so i had my cracked seeds that already had the root tip coming out in paper towels...i put them in a bownl,and on top of my cpu monitor,,thing is today i woke up asnd the paper had DRIED!!!!:cuss: fuck!! i already searched,and obviosly it is a bad thing,but is it enough to KILL my seedlings? i ofcourse saturated the paper towels againbongsmilie,and placed something on top so it doesnt dry out,so has anyone ever had this happen to them??

if so,did the seedlings die,or get stunted..or did they simply rewcover once the papers were moitaned again?
please i need help with this,they werer 100$ ak47 :bigjoint:seeds!!!!

same thing happened to me before.some made it and some didnt. it just depends how dry and for how long. you got it wet as soon as you found it. i would get them into your containers soon tho.

damn..lucky it was only 2 seeds,but nonthelss that sucks...im waiting for the tap root to grow more before plavcing in my raopid rooter cubes..so does anyone else wanna chime in with experience?has this ever happened to ya?? also,why is iut taking my seeds FOREVER to sput from my rockwool...

Most likely seeds are gone. A lil bit of drying out and poof, gone.

I have my Sensi NL germing soon. Expenisive seeds so I know how you feel.

I had this happening to me only at first... Wat i mean by that is when u first get ur plates... paper towls..ect.. its all BONE dry so its going to absorb ur water VERY fast for the first 1-2 days.. So you have to check on them at least 4 times a day or more and spray them down. You will notice over time that it starts to stay wet longer.. this is because the plates and the paper towls stopped absorbing ur water and u can start to lay off the check-ups

well theyr still on top pf the cpu monotr,being kept quite warm..Ill check tommrow to see if the tap root grew longer..so what are the odds nthat my seeds didnt get affetced by being in the dry paper towels?What is the importance of them being kept moist all the time duing the sproutling stage?Does anyone have any experience with this..come on guys,Im sure Im not the first 1 to let the paper towels dry out...please reassure me man..the seeds cost a small fortune!!!

There are very tiny hairs along the taproot that are quite easily damaged. This is the reason many good breeders, like Mandala etc... say not to germ them outside the substrate. Here is a link to their FAQ:

I'm not saying I agree 100% with their method. Many things work. But it makes sense if you put the seed in moist soil and never have to touch it again............... you get my point.

Read their whole FAQ. They know a lot of good methods.

So who knows how your seeds will react. Time will tell if they make it or not.

i had the same thing happen to me a couple of times. i watered them asap and planted them. they have sprouted. im sure yours are fine too. i guess the taproot cant be too different from the marijuana plant which requires some dryness to get some oxygen anyways.

If they went twelve hours or longer without moisture...I would say there probably gone. Is this ur first grow???? Why were you using such expensive seeds if you didnt know what you were doing??? I mean...I hope they survive and all...but damn.

IMHO never use heat of any kind to germ seeds. I RUINED some really expensive seeds ( 3 fucking times straight ) before I learned that they were getting too warm and dying. Just put em in a damp ( NOT WET WET.. Wring out most of the excess water leaving it barely damp ) paper towels ( not toilet paper or anything else.. USE PAPER TOWELS ) and place it in a ziplock baggie and place it in a drawer or some other dark place for 24 hours and then check it.. If it still hasnt crracked, barely wet it some more as it prolly needs it by now and leave it alone for another day or two..Also,soaking the seeds for 12-18 hrs before placing in the towels will fill the seed w/ enough water to actually cause it to germ in the towel so MINIMAL water is needed.. THE BIGGEST mistakes ppl make is ..

1. TOO WET and the seed just rots.
2. TOO WARM and the seed just rots.

yea your good, seeds go through more than that outdoors, there meant to survive, dont baby them so much and dont be afraid to cut a few leaves off when those seeds sprout... cause your fine.
