I live down here in southern Cali. and I'm thinking about doing an outdoor grow.Im not sure if its good timing though with the weather and all.Last year
I had 4 monsters growing on my own spot on a mountain and I lost those to the uncontrollable forces of nature:finger:.Tell me what you think?I have good seeds too,Train Wreck,GDP,"90 Day wonder"(my buddy did good with thatbongsmilie),and supposedly a couple Sour Diesel seeds.Let Me Know your opinion!!!!!!!

its way too cold at night down here. Wait till April, start prepping now.

Yea i agree, wait at least until day light saving starts and it starts to get a little warmer...I live in LA and it is supposed to rain for at least a week, so wait until the storms pass and there is more light...So i would say at earliest if you anxious to start would be mid-march.

I live in so-cal too, I moved some of my plants outside for a few hours on the advice of a "Master Gardener". Mistake. The sun is just not bright enough right now, half my plants bent in two different directions, trying to follow the light.

Plus, it gets to around 40-50F at night here, seems a bit too cold. Wait a few months.

I too live in l.a. I started my plants indoors move them outside to flower, we are having a mild winter so far. Last mo. It was like 80 f just about everyday, way to much sun to waste it. And i already started plants for outdoor grow. Will transplant outside end of feb. To mid march. Hope to harvest 2x this summer, and late fall

I'm just curious, because I don't know, but wont that mess with the plants light cycle? Summer days are gettin' longer.

Seems like the plants start their grow in spring, go strong in summer and finish in winter, dropping their seeds and starting the cycle again.

I live in Riverside, and we had the same heatwave, but its over now, and my plants just seem to like it indoors more.

That's the problem with planting outdoors now, aside from the weather. You still have 12 hours of darkness this time of year and the plants will go directly to flower. That's OK indoors where you control the lightcycles but outdoors the days will be getting longer and the plants will revert to veg. That may not be bad but it seems to me it might screw the plants up.

Fires, feds, robbers, Mexican drug cartels, thousands of other growers, helicopters, millions of nature tourists, hunters, hikers, I don't know why people stick with Cali. It's suppose to be THE place to grow but everyone knows it from feds to robbers to other growers. If I was in Cali and wanted to do a big grow I'd drive to NV, AZ, or UT and setup a maintance free site (time release, irrigation, pest control). Cali is just way crowded for anything medium to big sized.

I'm sure if someone was this serious, you would do whatever was needed to hide your grow, even this lol.

Like I said, I planted indoors, all 6 plants. Only a few days ago, for maybe 4-5 hours, I put them outside, but they bent like crazy, not even any wind or clouds.

It's probably my crappy plants, all I know is that I'm not doing that again...
