The best when it comes to cheap is flat white paint. Buy as little as you can get away with that will give you a good total coverage and a cheap disposable brush and you will have good reflection for as little cost as you can get.

this is out of jorge cervantes "marijuana horticulture - the indoor/outdoor medical grower's bible, p. 188. it states the following--

Reflective Chart

Material Percent Reflected

Foylon 94-95%
Reflective Mylar 90-95%
Flat White Paint 85-93%
Semi-gloss White 75-80%
Flat Yellow 70-80%
Aluminum Foil 70-75%
Black Less Than 10%

Reflectix - best stuff ever.

.

What is REFLECTIX INSULATION?

Reflectix® is a 5/16" thick, seven layer, reflective insulation that is available in rolls of various widths and lengths. Two outer layers of aluminum foil reflect 97% of radiant heat.

Each layer of foil is bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene for strength. Two inner layers of insulating bubble pack resist conductive heat flow while a center layer of polyethylene gives Reflectix® high reliability and strength.

i don't understand that, not proper english lol :wall:
if you have a backing that light will not shine threw then take the space blanket and attach it to it. if you don't then take a piece of black plastic and use it for backing. hope this helps

I just looked at that link and its not bad priced i guess at $25.67 canadian for a 4ft by 10ft roll. but it doesnt say anything about reflecting light. its for reflecting heat off of campers and shit that cant be insulated.

"Reflectix insulation is available in the US at HD and Lowes. This is bubble wrap sandwiched in mylar. It is silent, very durable, very easy to work with, provides good light diffusion, and is highly recommended. Mylar (in any of the above forms) is about 97% reflective."

The stuff is fantastic, I built a 2" x 4" frame and stapled Reflectix to it. No need for walls, incredibly bright and easy stuff to work with. Tough.

go to your nearest dollor store. auto department. the window shades that you put in your car window, get about 3 of them, rigid and good reflector. and cheap, maybe $3.00 one. been using these and my babies are doing great.

Mylar is only good if it is kept completely flat, no wrinkles at all. Mylar is also very hard to clean, once you get water on it, it's a bitch to clean. Stick with paint or panda plastic if you do not want to f up the room.

yeah i hear ya, it could be at times. But just roll it out and cut it and have an extra buddy hold it again the wall while you staple/pin it against the wall.

Whats panda plastic? never heard of it
