To much light for Clones?

Its a healthy 10'' clone. (the other one is witled but I just got them after they have not been any under light and had not been transfered to a bigger pot).

My question was:

I was using 9-26watt cfl 6500 for 2 of them. My room is 3x3x3. Think its a little to much light? Did a little research and thought it was to much, but someone mentioned the more the better.

I can understand the more the better, but what about clones? Think this is to much light? I already went ahead and cut it down in case It would dry out the leaves bad since I was told to spray it often.

10" is pretty big for a clone. I'm sure it can handle more light. You have approx. 243 watts of light. Rule of thumb would be 50 watts per square foot, which for your space is 450 watts. No need for that much for only 2 plants, though. I would still add another 100 watts for flowering though if you can mangage. Make sure they're the soft white bulbs. I think the spec is 3500K

They are def. soft white. I think Im going to just leave the lights and see what happens over the weeks. Ill keep spraying it (when I transplant it was watered well).

It is impossible to give a plant to much light as long as to much heat does not accompany it. Based on the plant’s leaf size it will only use the maximum amount it can process during each lighting cycle and the rest will just be wasted light but not be detrimental.

About the only exception to that is if you have a plant in shock or if you are transferring it from indoors to outdoors where going from what would be a low light condition compared to full sunlight to the full rays of the sun might put it into shock. But when staying with one lighting source, for each stage of growth, you cannot give them to much light, only two much heat with the light you give them.

It was at my buddies after he had brought it to his house. It was practically the same night I picked it up and the plants looked real healthy (Like I said, pretty tall for clone). Hope I didnt experience to much shock with the plants. It hardly even gets hot in my grow room I have no idea why, stays below 70 for some reason (Maybe intake to big).

Im just gonna experiment with more lights. They are just cfls and they wont ever get hot. They stay about an inch or so away from the plant. Im looking more into prunning and topping also since I have some dead area's.

So the clone being that tall has not developed its root structure quite yet? I was told to transfer it into a 3g pot for another few weeks or so (or few inch taller) so I figure the clone has its own structural base (when I pulled it out to transplant, the soil was nicely together and came out great, looked like roots were wrapped around it).

This is the reason why I have about 600watt pumping into those 2 bad boys. They are a foot away though

My head is still kinda spinning. Ive read into prunning and other material just this certain subject im kinda stuck lol.

This is where im confused whether its growing or not. The F*n thing is tall and seems like its ready for more lights.

They each have about 9-12 sets of leafs

Yes im almost definate they were showing (first time grow obviously, im an idiot when it comes to observation).

Like before the soil was real moist and easy to take out. I could see white thin strips around the hole thing. I would assume if its that tall then its ready for some real light.

Is there such thing as planting a 10'' clone? lol. Teachers say their is no such thing as a stupid question....yes there is.

Edit: I also wonder if I should cut off bottom leaf stem. Not pruning because I did it once and to another which turned out alrite but one of the bottom leafs is getting bad.

if a leaf starts to look shitty, you can trim it off. but leave it til its no longer green. and those things you saw were roots. the plant is ready for as much light as you can give it.

Thats all I needed to know. They are under cfls so ill keep them close as I can w/o burning them. The hole thing looks great just a few bad hairs here and there. Thank u so much.

Well the plant looks healthy just of course the yellow spotting and tips turning almost white(better check the chart) on the top leaves (maybe couple) but the rest is still green and standing strong. The only problem im having is they feel like they keep drying out. I mist them couple times a day but not very heavy at all...so today I up'd the misting a bit one one of them...the other is still drooping but no signs of yellowing or such (I broke the stem at the top part actually and wrapped it around a stick with some shoe string) im not so worried about it.

I wish I could take some pics but cant at the moment. I havent watered in 2 days now and the pot still feels heavy.

I havent purchased a device for humidity but today im going to pick up a better temp. reader and if they have it (which im sure) ill pick up a humidity reader or a temp with a humidity reader.

Hope that made sense.

Maybe thats my problem, temp is fine. Have a fan for exhaust and a bigger fan for intake..maybe the big ass fan is drying my shit up. It doesnt rotate but its hitting the walls and away from the plants.

Just put another item on my list.

you can definatly have too much light.. excess light will stop photosynthasis and the plant will start converting the light to heat. have you ever seen bleaching???? i have its from too much light... some sativas buds will get fluffy skinny and long... i belive subcool refered to it as foxtailing...
the sun at its brightest is like 11000 lumens and that is only at the peak intensity than it fades throuout the day and it doesnt reach that every day and if it rains or its cloudy evan less so if you have a light puting out 10000 psf all day long than your already passing the suns output and you need to add co2 if you want your plants to be able to use it and evan then its overkill.... cfls are diffrnt they dnt add up...2 1100 lumen bulbs dnt add up to 2200 lumens its just 2 1100 lumen bulbs so it eould be right to mesure in watts and i doubt you will ever have too much light that way... its only as bright as your brightest bulb....
