wtf brand new 600w agormax bulb just blew

600w agromax hps bulb just blew after less than 1 week.. The only thing I can think of was the he aimed the fan that was on the floor blowing on the plants upward toward the light instead of on the plants.. 2 hours later the light stopped working.. tried unplugging and plugging back in and it made the bulb blink bright white just for a split second but didnt come on.. unplugged/replugged and it made a bright white light for 1/100 of a second then nothing.. now it wont do anything.. 600w digi balast ( HTG ) and agromax bulb. the fan on the ballast still runs so it may just be the bulb.. anyone else had probs w/ these bulbs/ballasts? how the hell would a fan blowing on it 3 feet away make it blow?

just ordered one of these from htg to go along with my 600w sunsystem digital ballast, home-made cooltube + reflector. It should be here by tuesday. hope i do not share your experience.

I cant believe that blowing air across your lamp would cause the problem, since thats exactly what you would do with a sealed reflector with a inline fan. Maybe you just got ahold of a bunk bulb. Some of the digital ballasts have a safety feature that doesnt allow the lamp to re-spark untill the lamp cools down. Also some have a reset botton.
