hey thanks for the quick reply kush. Its g13 haze, the best stuff i smoked in amsterdam last month. Screwed up 2 seeds so really don't wanna mess these up. I'm not sure what good root development is as I have no basis for comparison. I can see a little root around 5mm in length. I killed my last seeds by placing them under light too early, however this batch has been in the dark for a day longer. Should I wait until something sprouts from the surface before giving light?DJR my man, get those pellets in pots or hydro whenever you feel the roots have shown good growth in the pellets. Roots being established means the plant is ready for incoming light energy, so let it shine. Which strain mate? Good to see your name around the forum man, keep it up

It sounds like you have a single root emerging? If that's the case you're going to want to wait until you have 2 - 4 roots shooting and you'll have a much better chance of your pellets rooting in your medium. I would suggest using a 1/4 or 1/3 strength root stimulator as well DJR, the roots will explode out the bottom quickly. Keep the pellets in a light pure water (and pH'd) film on the bottom of your container. The G13 is nice to grow, once it gets going it takes care of itself pretty good with minor care. Good luck man, keep me posted

You have another 2 - 3 days ahead of you mate, keep the lights on them now 24/0 and hit them with a little water every day or so, not enough to soak to jiffys, but enough that the medium will become moist. When the sprout gets around 4 - 5" I wouldn't worry about anything. The roots are just having a harder time getting through the pellets. I germinate all my seeds in papertowel and when I get a 1" tap root I plant directly into soil or hydrotron. Give that a rip next time, you'll have better results, the seed has to work hard to penetrate the pellets. You're on the right track, keep it up

Sounds like you did good prep on your pellets. I usually don't even expose my starts to a medium other than soil or rockwool and I keep a small (1/4") level of water in the bottom of a container and sit my rockwool medium in that, if I'm using cubes. If I'm using soil, and I always do, I plant right in my soil that I've mixed to be "airy" for rapid growth. I would let you pellets sit in a 1/4 solution in some Tupperware and let the roots really break before placing them on your medium.I germinated one in a paper towel and then when the root was 1/4" i placed it in the jiffy. Im still waiting on that one to sprout. I heard the roots find it hard to break through the jiffy pellet so i crushed them and made the peat real loose before placing the seeds in. I'm going to place them under the light now. I'm using a 200w envirolite which gets pretty warm, any ideas on how to keep them moist? And also how much above the plant should i put the light?

As for lighting, hold your hand over your plant and lower your light as you do. If your hand gets hot, your plants will burn if not well circulated. Try 12" and use your hand as a guide from there, it will be close.
Good luck DJR my man, let me know how you do
