it depends what you have money to spend on? and how much room you have? if you have money go with the halide and youll have a better lighting. the cfl can be cheap but they will still get the job done. whats can you afford/use?

how much heat does a 250w mh put put out? how close can it be to the plants? and what is the smallest area for a veg cab with it?

with any HID i would recommend full exhaust and intake on a termastat.... in a smaller grow cab.. you will prolly see a increase of 10-15 c...

anyone have experience using 400w HPS and using the metal halide conversion bulbs? HTGsuppy has a good deal on this combo it comes with both the HPS and MH conv bulb. i was thinking i could use the MH for veg and switch to HPS for flower. maybe after the veg with MH use many cfls for my mother and clones. would do this do to cabinent space. so this is how it would go. i am starting from seeds, from attitude. so grow from seeds with MH then take clones. keep clones and mother under MH. then move grown clone to HPS. and switch mother to CFLS. i would have to do this b/c of only one ballast and reflector.
has anyone used the setup with HPS bulb and MH conversion bulb?
oh and after harvest would then swith back to MH for new clones then back to HPS for flower. make sense?? maybe i need to draw something up on my palns for my grow cabinent. i am in process of getting materials but want to make sure i got everything b4 build.
thanks guys.
