panic attack....help

Did you just smoke something?

I have had them and yes, lie in a dark room and breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

I've had maybe a dozen panic attacks in my life, some justified, others out of nowhere.


They're weird, feel bad for anyone that legitimately suffers from them often.

my buddy has alot of panic attacks, i dont even know what to do for him, when i get streased i smoke weed and the pain goes away (i have major anxiety disorders, when im streased my body cramps up... been happening when i take acid more too...) but smoking doesnt work the same for him, it doesnt help at all.

breathing in your nose and out your mouth is a great way to meaditate, it can help anything. put some music on, concentrate on that and just breath as deep as you can.

I know you posted this a while ago, but this may help next time.
First, remember that no one has ever died from weed, and you're not likely to be the first.Sit down, and take several deep breaths.Draw the air in, fill up your lungs until you can't anymore, then push the air out until your lungs are empty.As you do this, remember that you are in control of your mind,and this is just a bad line of thought you've entertained.Slowly get up,and get something to eat.Eat slowly, and concentrate on enjoying the food.The food will also bring you down from your high.Drink some water,and then go and watch something funny on tv,or surf the net,finding things that interest you.Listen to some relaxing music.When you are relaxed enough, you can sleep if you like. If this is the first time you've had the particular weed you just smoked,make a note of its effect on you,and either mix small amounts of it with different weed to get rid of it,or try a different method of ingestion.Next time you do it,stop short of the point you were at when the panic hit, and evaluate how you feel.If you feel panic coming on,just breathe again and take control like before.

If I get really high, somtimes I get bad heart pounding Anxiety. Especially when I eat some cookies made with cannabutter. I start to get really high, then I start thinking, what if I ate to much.. How much higher Am I going to get? Thats when I freak out. About 5 minutes later, I feel great and laught about flipping out earlier.

lol, for me no amount is too much. the higher the better! i love to get to that point that borders tripping.

a good friend of mine decided a few years ago that it would be a great idea to smoke as much weed as they could, they smoked 27 bongs, 4 joints and a few bowls... they got to that "head feals like a rock" fealing, then i guess my buddies lung started leaking air into his chest cavity. he had to co to the hospital and there was a pocket of air around his heart. they fixed it and he couldnt even be around any kind of smoke for like 3 years. he smokes alot now... he said he always could have he was just scared of it happening again...

also the same thing happened to my cousin in weight class... but he never smoked... so this makes me believe that it was the streas from inhaling that much smoke, along with the inevitable coughing caused the problem... is this logical?

I guess if it happened, it's logical...you can strain just about anything, I guess...I've heard of collapsed lungs(not related to pot)before,I guess you might be able to rip a lung,but you'd think there would have to be an underlying weakness to begin with, as lungs are meant to expand and contract quite a bit.

I have had a few panic attacks. They do not last more than about 5 minutes for me and then they clear away. Makes me grip the arms of my chair really tight, I panic hoping it will end soon and then it does. Main thing is knowing that it is temporary and the feelings will subside quickly.

Ripping lung wouldn't happen from the inside. It would have to be done with an object or bullet. But collapse lungs are possible. Ive seen a bad cold, cause one. Used to be a Nurse. Used to........

yea im perty sure they collapsed theyre lungs or something, i would imagine smokin as much as they did would cause alot of caughing...

Lungs can rupture from the inside. SCUBA divers (I am) have to be conscious of it. You could tear a lung if you coughed for a long period. I had pneumonia about 4 years ago and, well I coughed up some actual chunks of tissue. Doctor freaked, but let me go home anyway. Told him I would rather die in my own bed, thank you very much!
