i live in canada ontario thats enough being said, can your landlord go threw your house looking threw your cabinets and dressers?? or are they only limited to wut ever is visualy left out (with the exception of your closet) and i know they ahve to give 24 notification before just showing up. and no my landlord hasnt done this to me but im just tryna figure out a few loopholes in the law. also say your roomates door was locked and he wasnt home and your landlord wanted in the room wut would happen in that case?

have no clue But I would assume he could go into cabinets and closets that house utility's Like plumbing or ductwork or hot water heater ,, Not your bedroom closets and dressers
It's against human rights to invade your privacy, they can't go in your bedroom let alone your closet, unless there is something they need to fix for your safety or for keeping the building in proper maintenance. They can give 24hrs notice, but you can sometimes still tell them they're not allowed in. If they give 24 hours notice to fix a plumbing problem, you may have to let them in, but if they give 24 hours notice that they're going to change your screens on your bedroom windows you can say no thank-you. If they're in your kitchen fixing plumbing they aren't allowed in your bedroom or bathroom.
In regards to your roomates locked room question, if someone on the lease lets the landlord in, it's not illegal. It's like being invited into a home, just because one person doesn't want you int there doesn't mean you legally have to leave. If you're invited in by a resident, you're a guest.
The only time they can go in your apartment without any warning, is if they need to in order to fix something that could ruin the building, or risk the safety of other tennants (ie if your place is flooding out into the hallway, they can go in and fix immediately).
I'm assuming you're worried about a landlord finding a grow/stash, but I wouldn't worry too too much because they will never take the stash from you, so you can always get rid of it and then ask them wtf they are talking about and deny the entire thing.

when you set up your grow keep in mind that you will have to be able to tear it sown or hide it with in 24 hours. I did mine in a half hour test when I thought i had too. lol,
I have since learned my landlord is a little less seen, thank god. I am glad I have an ozone generator in case i got to put some plants in bags on the balcony.

I have rental property and I can tell you, as long as the check is there on time, I don't come around.
but in tennesse I can go in anytime as long as I think there a problem.
If I for some reason wanted in your bedroom, I would use the excuse that there was rat problem and we were looking for the source.

put a lock on your grow room door before you do anything. but dont change the outside locks too fast. A guy changed the outside locks so his landlord called the cops right away. Grow got busted. Also get a dog if you are allowed, or one of those big cats. A big cat will cost about 1000 or more so factor that in.

yep...for routine maintenance I give 24 hour warning before I come in. but, recently a water heater busted and the next door neighbor called me because she could see water flowing out the back door. I tried to contact the renters and couldn't, so I had to go in unannounced.
basically if your paying your rent on time I don't fuck with you.

so heres a good one, (im a house renter of 5+ years and on time)
had a small electrical issue and my landlord who never comes out, like 1 time in 5 yrs..lol decided to swing out and take a look at the box....SHIT, my stealth grow cabs are like 1 foot away from it...LOL. i had a few days, made the DIY filter as seen on here, shut the fans off and he was standing within 2 foot of 2 7week flowering stinky buds!
I was shitting bricks! he fixed the issue and left happy. OMG i didnt know what to do, but RIU helped me out. my stash is ALL PERSONAL small quanitys, $100 ticket for growing or posessing under 100 grams in my state. yes i am high, just wanted to share

ok so what do you think of paying like 4-6 months rent up front when you move in. Would that look fishy? I'm gonna be moving in aug. and I was planning on paying like 4-6 months rent up front when we moved into the new place. I'm planning on staying any where we move for 2-3 years if all things work out. Do you think this would help encourage a landlord to just leave me alone? Just explain to him that I'm getting ready to have a kid, and settle down for atleast 2-3 years till we can buy a house. Give him the money upfront, which I thought might get us discount, an then start sending him money orders a month before the rent is finally due again.

Well I would prefer to just call a plumber, or an A/C guy myself to be honest. That is if I couldn't fix it myself, I'm pretty handy. Would it be ok to just ask him for a list of contractors, or companies he likes to have do his work, so that we could just handle any situations as they might arise?
