Should I mix blue and red spectrum?

Is it better to keep the blue light spectrum throughout the vegatation and the red light spectrum during the flower stage

or

Mix blue and red spectrum throughout the plants entire life peroid?

Which one is better do you guys use and like better?

I read around theres good results in mixing the two lights.

in my opinion, all blue spectrum for vegging, as for flowering i would do 3 red spectrum bulbs per 1 blue spectrum bulb.

If you only have 2 bulbs, one high and one low kelvin, use both. If you have three or more bulbs, use the majority according to which Cycle you are in.

That is why they use the term DUAL SPECTRUM, because the sun emits both at the sane time, (Red or Blue, UVA or UVB, or High Kelvin-Low Kelvin) but one stronger than the other, depending on what time of the year it is.

truthfully, i don't know whats best, but i mix it up... and i don't think anyone on here has done a "real" test to see which is better... but..... the sun is different spectrums, so i would conclude this to be better... but, i don't know for a fact

red spectrum is used more so in the flowering period... but it doesn't matter much if you use it in veg state. The more light, the better... use both =) just watch your plants for watering and you'll be good.

yeah... some go by the 2 to 1 ratio... during veg, for every 2 6500K, you can use 1 2700 K and during flowering its opposite... for every 2 2700K, you can use 1 6500

Would it be alright to have 4 24 watt 6500k and 1 40 watt 2700k running or will I need a lower 2700k bulb?

i would just get a bunch of wide spectrum bulbs that way the light is distributed evenly! just my two sense. Granted its my first grow...I'm not a retard!!! t can do anything i set my mind too. good luck bro

You have to mix the 6500k , and 2700k, and a 4100k or 5100k in the middle is OK and beneficial too.CFLs

i don't think you have to do anything to get results, because people get results doing different things with the bulbs... some claim its better to mix spectrums for good results and otheres recommend sticking with one spectrum for different stages.. and there are even people who changes weekly... so i can't tell you...

use as many lights from as many spectrums as possible

although, i have had great success using HPS all the way through (veg & flower)... any grow light will work all the way through, the photoperiod makes the plants flower, not the light spectrum... (but having the right spectrum still helps)

they now have 1000w "dual arc" bulbs which is 1 bulb that has a 600w hps and a 400w MH in it and can be run by any 1000w ballast...

i also added in uvb bulbs to my room... the sun is always putting out uva and uvb... a lot more uva though, but thats the DNA destroying uv... uvb is the "biologically active" uv that is supposed to have an effect on the trichomes... uvb is rumored to be the catalyst of THC production in the trich heads. (according to marijuana mans youtube video "UVB, THC, and Me")

You can get a TAN outside in April, but the rays of July are more intense and will burn you more EASILY and faster too. RAYS CHANGE DURING THE COURSE OF THE YEAR.

POT plants need both, but more of one than the other, depending on the Cycle, VEG or FLOWER.

That is why we use different kelvin bulbs for different cycles if we are using CFLs.

i agree with what you are saying, but if you only have a 6500 bulb, and thats all you got, it will work for veg and flower... it will make buds, maybe not as big or dense as the right spectrum, but if you are using CFLs i wouldnt spit for the difference...
