ok so this is my 2nd post. The newb section was higher in the list than introductions, so like a newb.....

Anyway, THIS is where first timers post!

Thank you. I look forward to learning from all the good people here. I'm a mmj patient with Parkinson's in the process of moving to California where they might treat me a little more like a human being. Here's the genes I've got and have been having fun with for a few years.

female seeds - Neville's Haze Hybrid, Grapefruit X Neville's Haze Hybrid
Mandala - Hashberry, Sadhu, Speed Queen
Dr. Chronic - mp5k
Greenhouse and Nirvana - Northern Light
Sensi and Nirvana - White Rhino, Big Bud
(Wanted to see for myself the difference between the 'real deals' and Nirvana. Nirvana has held its own except with Big Dud Bud.)

Now I can't wait to grow out some local Cal strains one day. But my Sadhu and me are fine for now.

Thanks yellowsnakes. I did the same thing. I started out with bag seed and soil for a few tries before I craved better genes and had a good opportunity to get them. And even then I went with the cheaper genetics first, Nirvana and Mandala. I have to say it was a good decision and I would recommend it if you can do it safely. I had been getting some really awful Mexican brick weed for far too long and never again. Hopefully your bag seed is better than mine was.

. . . . made some mistakes for first couple grows.

Big mistake #1.
Let the cats in the grow room. doh, cat hairs in all the buds, very bad.

Big mistake #2.
Misting while the plants were budding. I'm pretty sure I got bud rot. Buds were all puffed out (not dense) and tasted like hay

Big mistake #3.
Changed nutrients half way through grow. Didn't read directions for mixing new nutes carefully. Nasty Nute burn, destroyed the whole crop.

All done with free bagseed.

With lots of help from other RIU members I finally got everything under control and produced some excellent, dense, nice tasting bud from bagseed :hump:

It's all in my journal in link below in signature

Awesome journal and a great grow show. Thanks for sharing that.

I'm still seeking that elusive perfect grow myself. You can only hope to manage the cat hair, it can't be eliminated. Too funny. And dog hair too. Don't drop anything around here, lol.

I got bud rot even without misting during flowering! Twice. My bagseed was a 90-100 day finisher and evidently prone to it. Its my biggest worry now.

I've fried a good dozen plants. I will undoubtedly fry a few more too.

There is always something more for me to learn and I came across RIU so I'm here to do just that.

Your bagseed definitely looked better than mine. I'll do some more reading in your journal.

Thanks again yellowsnakes.
