Is there a better time to fondle my ladies?

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a particular time that is better than others to work with my plants. I usually wake up and check on, water, and rotate them about 1-2 hours after the light comes on. I also normally do more stressful work (like transplanting and training) around noon (six hours into the light cycle), and normally around 8pm-10pm the old lady and I smoke a bowl with them to give them a little extra C02. Is it OK to disturb them whenever I want, or should I stick to messing with them during a particular part of the light cycle?

as long as the lights are on i usual will work on my plants, but a suggestion if you are just starting your plants and are early in veg. run 24/0 for your lights for the first couple of weeks then switch to 18/6... in the really early stages the more light the better, but back to your question, i dont think when you work on your plants would be a big factor but for the more stressful work i could see it helping out to let it have light on it for a while before you get too heavy into any of that...

I am not a believer in a 24/0 light cycle at any time. While under sunlight/grow lights plants will take in energy from the light rays but the plants will split that energy up for multiple uses, they basically are multitasking. That means a smaller percentage of absorbed energy goes to actual growth. During darkness plants ‘run’ on stored energy and they shut down functions/energy uses other than what goes for growth. Your plants grow more efficiently during hours of darkness than they do during hours of light.

Hours of darkness are very beneficial to plant growth at every stage of growth. That is when they grow the most efficiently. That is not an opinion but instead proven fact. Use an 18/6 light cycle and your plants will be better off and you will get better growth, more efficient growth and you will cut your energy consumption too.

My grandfather taught me that if you do things like germinating, pruning and cloning in the right phase of the moon that your plants do a lot better. It's as simple as buying a farmers almanac. If you follow the charts as close as you can, the results are undeniable!

It sounds a little crazy, but if you start gardening this way, you'll never stop. Farmers have been going by the signs for thousands of years. If you do a bit of digging, you'll find that farmers have only not been doing this for the last 100 years or so (in the US anyway) and after the invent of modern chemical ferts.

If you are an organic grower, this information is priceless.

Absolutely, I'm an indoor grower myself. I don't think that it has anything to do with any exposure to the moon, rather than it times your plants to the rhythm of the earth and how microorganisms relate to it. It works inside or out. In containers or in the ground. Above or below ground. It makes no difference. Hope all goes well...
