If you got seeds with no males or a hermie, reference the bible for immaculate conception. I suggest watching your next grow more closely.

As far as cutting up the buds goes. I almost exclusively smoke from a bong and grind my weed into a powder. 1 pinch, 1 puff. Want more? Pinch more.

I have never cut a bud for drying or curing.

Check out the link and do what it says and you will be fine.

As for seeds, well someone knocked up your girls. Either you didn't get your guys out in time or you didn't spot a hermi or if you keep guys separate they are not separate enough or someone else in the area is growing.

Once its dried and cured I save some of the bigger buds to show off my results. The rest gets removed from the stems. It sounds like you got a hermie and did not notice till smoking time. Light leaks, any type of stress like leaving light on too long by mistake or too much heat or over feeding can all cause stress and in turn you can get hermies. The good part is if the plants are from female clones or female seeds you will get 100% female seeds from the hermies. Good luck next grow Bro!

thanks guys! all the seeds were bagseed, none feminized, but ur sayin these seeds will probably be feminized? dope.

thanks for all the opinions about cuttin up buds. i just find it easier to fill up the mason jars when the buds are all cut up. but at the same time, big ass buds are the shizznit.

I had two female plants also and got some seed....apparently a female can develop some male pods and polinate herself since there are no males to do so...species preservation...or so was the answer I recieved on that quetion...I plan on planting mine next time around.

Not to sound like a know it all, but..... I know exactly what happened, because it happened to me.

Last year I aquired a few seeds from a University study (no B.S.). Luckly two of the 5 sprouted and one was a female, I culled out the male right at first pre-sex signs. There is actually the thread on here where I showed people. Anyway. The female grew nice and big, and about 4 or 5 weeks into flowering she put out a male flower on the very bottom branch. No light leaks, and she wasn't a hermi.

I did some research and this is what I found....

"Intersexed".

This is a female plant that for one reason or another, either feminized seed/clone, or just weak genetics (MJ plant has a bad tendancy to switch genders naturally), puts out one to several male flowers later in the flowering stage. The difference between a intersexed and a hermi is that a hermi will share generally an equal amount of each reproductive flower, where in an intersexed it is few and random.

In my case after my research I realized that I could bend this slightly to my favor. I pulled any male flower I found (totalled like 7), then pollenated the bottom most branch. From this I got 12 feminized seeds. The one problem in doing this is you are weakening the gene pool (inbreeding). You are basically restructuring the genetic sequence of a "seed clone." The most problematic result is you will almost always have a male flower pop out, in which this current grow (about to harvest) I caught the one and only male flower before it even opened and ripped that bastard out! I want me some pure sensi damn it! LOL

As for breaking up the main cola.... I don't I'm proud of that SOB. I went out and bought a special air tight jar thats 12" high so I can fit the entire thing in there when curing. Its really impressive to pull out a 9 inch tric covered pillow of bud around friends. Tell them I bought it for super cheap (little do they know mwa ha ha ha).

ANYWAY, good luck, save your seeds, keep an eye out for male flowers, enjoy your smoke!

no since they are bag seed you wont get fem seeds he is saying if it was a clone or feminized seeds
how absurd.... a self pollenated plant will produce fem seeds wether they are from a bag, a elite seedbank, a clone, or a kansas hemp plant.

and all i grow is big buds, theyre easier to trim. i hang them whole and trim into popcorn nugs when they go into the jar. you get a better cure with a jar that is more full(not packed!).

What I highlited in red is absolutly true! That is the one thing I learned the first time I cured my cola by itself. Now on I just put it all in the same jar!

Just make sure that you keep an eye on them and look for "bananas" in the buds. They pop out of the buds and are yellow in colour, if you see them, then you have a hermie. It doesn't really take much to hermie a plant, so you must keep a close eye and don't change the environment that their in.

If it's a good strain then you're lucky to get all those seeds. Have some fun!
