Well it looks like i have a crystal dying.. :sad:

hopefully it'll pull through, think i should reveg it??

it was doing fine, then one day i noticed that the stalk moved freely.. i then gave it support but it's just not coming back.. yet?? should i try and take clones?

yeah she's pretty bad, same age and type as the one in the back right corner, dunno what i did.. like i said i just checked it one day and the stalk pivoted from the dirt a bit..

little over a week on 12/12

what should i do? :-(

Ok if it where me I would go ahead and take the chance of reveging and see if I could not bring her back with lots of care and low stress.

If You are in hydroton rocks (I think thats what I see) - Did she go bad
AFTER you propped her up? Sometimes moving a stalk around too much
can cause shock - the rocks trap the roots and they'll break when moved.
I've done the exact thing to a couple of lanky girls - and they never recovered.

Secondly, root rot from over watering will cause them to "Go Loose" in their pots.


I have had some success with one plant like this by doing the following:

1) Flush her good by soaking in PH'd water with a little Hydrogen Peroxide and weak root stimulator for a good 1-2 hour soak
2) Put her on a 20 hour light cycle till it shows improvement
3) Return to flower when she looks healthy

i would has at guess that it's to much water. wobbly stem is probably due to rot. if you move some of your soil away from the stem, what does it look like?

i'm using soil, and i don't overwater (i water, let dry, water.. same as the others that are flourishing)

she was doing bad before and after propping. I pulled some soil back, don't see anything..

i did tear up some roots when i put the prop stick in, i'm sure that didn't help anything..

i took her out the flower room and into veg

now should i flush out the flowering nutes? put in some root stimi and a mild veg mix prehaps?

i didn't say you overwater. as you say your others are doing good but that one pot may be to tightly packed but it looks like a classic sign of to much water in the soil.

when you say you didn't see anything i presume you mean you saw a nice greenish stem.

i wouldn't start tearing up roots but its to late now. i meant just dig down to check what the stem looks like under the soil.

just use ph'd water. do you measure your ph and ppm?

I measure ph but not ppm, i was just going to throw it in the bathtub to flush, then finish with ph-ed water?

no worries bro. it's easy to misinterpret stuff online.

that is bad mate. i've had stem rot in hydro and the plant will die. i would get yourself some cuttings quick.

edit: quick thought and i dont know what others would think but if you left the plant like that the stem may dry out and the plant recover. still take cuttings tho if you need to keep that strain.

damn, yeah i didn't think it was gonna be good after really looking at it..

so no real hope eh?

i took some cuttings off of her few days ago, looks like i'll do more..

unrelated but, how long do clones need the dome and uber high rH?

I've got some that are 3 days in under the dome. By adding more under there will the others be ok with the dome staying on till the new ones root??

yeah i reckon they'd be fine. you'll probably find they take a couple of weeks to root. maybe longer since you had them in flower.

That looks like a basal fungus. These are usually carried by tiny beetles called ambrosia beetles. Basal fungi are usually associated with aromatic plants like bay trees, sassafras, pondberries. They eat away the stem right at the soil, but nowhere else (hence.. "basal"); this cuts off the flow of moisture and nutes -- you can't repair this. Never heard of it on MJ, but MJ would fit the MO of these things. You haven't had any little bugs flying around? Even if you haven't noticed them, I have no doubt that that is disease.

Personally, I'd get that plant the heck out of the room, put the clothes you were wearing in the wash right away, and wash your hands. Fungi get around easy.

MJ stalks usually flow evenly down into the root ball. I've pulled and examined my males recently.. didn't have any stalks looking like that.

You might wait a bit to see if anyone answers with the same experience you're having.. but not too long. No matter how that happened, it looks irreparable to me.

i don't know on that one. i would say she'll die tho. i wouldn't have put any rooting hormone on tho. i'm no expert at soil so i'm just going on feelings. hell i'm no expert at hydro either hehe.

good to hear a fresh perspective, i rarely see bugs in the flowering room, i've seen a bug once or twice

i'm going to give it a little while and kill it, wow i didn't even think disease..

i pulled my males out about a week ago, and didn't see anything like this from them either..

hopefully someone will chime in that's gone through this
