I found that there's a a 'pick-n-mix' of ages here....
I come in the middle being in my 30's, but there are definitely some teens here as well as 20 somethings on up the oldest I've heard of is a guy in his 60's. So we've got a good range of age here...
If someone was referring to my use of the word 'laid,' sorry that's what we said in the mid 90's. I'm not sure what they call it today. I find most the language today VERY difficult to understand.
Then again I honestly don't even know if 'cool' is still used to describe what it used to (although some claim it will never die.)

My wife toked a total of twice.. She'd never smoked anything in her life until Dec... She didn't like the 'smokey' taste and only took a few small hits which was really sad because what I got was seriously dank.
Now I have a vape and she wanted to try but we got pregnant and neither of us want her doing anything while pregnant. Since then the pregnancy miscarried and now I'm dry but have some georgous glas and a nice vape, but I'm without a source which is a REAL bummer because she wants to try with the vape because she liked the slight high she got. Oh well it will happen I just have to be patient.

I went off of two criteria price and recommendations. I got a good recommendation from a head shop manager on the HotBox. He wanted $250 for it which I thought was a bit high for what it was.
I found some good net reviews on it at well, not as good as the Volcano but decent reviews none the less.
I found one on vapenow.com for $130 and got it. It came in about 5 business days. I don't think it's as good as something like the Volcano from what I've read but it gives a good high and it doesn't taste burned.
One thing I do like is after it no longer vapes the herb you can take out the herb and put it in a pipe or bong and get a good last high out of it. It definately extended the life of my herb to say the least.
If you google enough you can find a bong attachment for it too. I haven't tried it yet as I need to retrofit our bong with a glass on glass seal for the attachment to work, but for people who don't smoke tobacco or anything else I would highly reccomend a vape.
The trick to the hotbox is to give a strong fast pull once it's heated up. That vapes it the best. Slow pulls like you'd take off a bong don't move the hot air over the herb enough to vape the trichomes, you'll get a lighter buzz doing a slow pull, but a heavy hit with a fast one.
The down side to the hotbox (I think) is that it's only got on and off, no temp variations. For me that works because I didn't have to expiriment too much to get good hits off it. I've heard of people destroying their weed with variable temp vapes. The other issue is the 'hands free' really isn't, you kind of have to hold the whip onto the heating element while you take your hit. The heating element covers are replacable and I wrote Hotbox and reccomended they switch to a glass on glass seal for the whips and element covers. If they listen they have a complete winner in my opinion. For the price it can't be beat. It sure blows the hell out of 300 - 500 for a Volocano or Volcano knock off.

To let you know ... here's how it went ...
On Dec 14th I toked up for the first time in 10 years. I got stoned as all hell for 7 hours off some Orange Kush I got from a friend (1/8th.) I smoked 1/2 of a stupidly small joint.
I then toked up with my wife (her first time) and our lovers (long story on another thread I'll send you the link if you want.) We smoked about half a cone off our new bong. (still hadn't used half of 1 bud)
A week later a friend came over and three of us toked up on 1/4 of a cone in our bong.
On NYE my wife and I smoked 1/4 of a cone and went and had some fun.
That was the end of bud 1.
Bud 2 in the 8th has supplied me and only me.
I vaped well over half of it. I got delivery of my vape Jan 23rd. Since then I toked up almost every night (save for a few nights when I had to go out with the wife and lovers.) I went dry officially 3 nights ago. Note I lost about 1 joint worth of weed to a cat misshap (the little shit scared the hell out of me while I was grinding.) So from Jan 23 to 3 nights ago I was getting 3 - 5 hour highs every night off of my remaining 1/16th. I only smoke at night, and usually just enough to go to sleep, but I had some damn nice highs off of 2 or 3 hits from the vape. I would use one loading of the vape for about 3 - 5 days. So I'd get 15 hits or so off of what would average out to be a little more the 1/4 of a cone in a bong.
Sorry I never measured how much I was smoking. I did it all by eyesight and I'm so old school that I work in 'American' measurments and couldn't even tell you how many grams are in an ounce. (I'm a musician not a scientist.)
Anyway for a returning stoner (I was hardcore from 13 - 18 ) I lasted really well for almost 2 months on just 1/16 and I shared another 1/16th with 3 friends and my wife. Now this Orange Kush was some damn dank weed too so your mileage may vary, but for the two weeks I was using the pipe or bong my weed was going a lot faster and taking more hits to get high than with the vape.
