I knw the method of checking the trichomes for ripeness, but in terms of pistils to get a cerebral head, uppy, high, when harvesting do I want there to still be some white hairs on the plant and what percentage? Pretty much, when going for an upper high, are you meanst to harvest while some pistils are still white?? ( want THC only, no CBD)

With out a Scope and wanting a head high, I think its safe to say that when all hairs have changed colors and half dead/shrivel

that is completely wrong. that will give you 'couch lock', make you a zombie. all the thc will have converted to cbn and cbd...guarantee

I could be wrong but i believe that when the trichomes are more milky white then amber and 50 to 75 % of the hairs are amber. ..

guarantee, eh? that's a pretty bold statement. ;-)
never talked with you before fdd, but your reputation precedes you, lol. prolly, what ever you say is the correct response.
however, from what I've read, only from what I've read, once all the pistils have changed color, thc converts to cbn/cbd, and you get a 'stonier' high rather than an 'uplifting' high.

"in general", i guess. :bigjoint:

i had a big bud outside a few years ago. the hairs would turn brown and die abut a week after they popped out. then new ones would layer themselves on top of those. it was really weird. the whole plant had 80% brown hairs yet it was only 4 weeks into flowering.

i think the best way to tell when buds are ripe is by watching them over time. they will change. they get a "finished" look to them. if they don't look finished, they most likely aren't.

i'm wrong a lot. :bigjoint:
