My grow room is a work in progress, the veg area is 33" w X 36"d X 68" h, the flower area is 79"w X 36d X 68"h. I have 2 2ft T20 fluoros in my veg and a 400W HPS cool tube in the flower. I'm using the ebb and flow method. The flower area is on 19/24 for the plants and I have the veg area on 24/7 for some seedlings. I began by germinating the AKs in a coffee cup but only 4 sprouted this way, I then used the much better paper towel method and got four more AKs in the veg chamber on the way. For nutes I'm using foxfarm grow big, PH is 6. I also have 2 clones from a flowering female that's growing outdoors. A friend gave me some bagseed that were small seeds but I germinated 8 of them and they popped right away. I'm trying to find out what strain it is, if I do I'll create some seeds to experiment later. If u go to my profile the pics have more detailed explanations. I've had start up difficulties such as foliar fed when shouldn't have, over fed with 4 feed cycles, now I'm feeding twice a day for 20 mins. And I also had the lights too close. I've been moving the lights up a couple of inches a day until the tips are ok. Please feel free to comment or make suggestions. The plants in the tub have been there for 2 weeks, tomorrow I'll be changing the nutes and possibly getting the next tub ready.

No bro I'm vegging right now the plants are about 25 days old, when they reach 15" I'll set them to 12/12, just using the space to veg for now.

Today I changed the nutes in the rez and added a level indicator and a couple of 1/4 inch fittings, one for the air and the other for a drain line I added to the outer edge of the tub cause the level in the tub was staying at about a 1/4 in. I'm about to get the next tub ready for the 4 AKs and 8 bagseed that are in the bubbleponic set up.
1- the first pic is a second gen AK mother of the 2 clones in the tub.
2- level indicator
3- the 3 AKs growing an inch a day and filling out nicely
4- the 2 clones 3rd gen, the one on the left was cloned with out scraping the stem, the right one had the stem scraped, both developed roots in 9 days but rightie had more. These 2 clones are going to be the mother plants for a while.

This morning when I looked in on the honeys the room was stanking( I have a Uvonair 3000 that I will have to put on a timer), the smell is not bad yet. Today I installed the new tub for expansion and cut the existing tub to 5 1/2 in. so I can get more light to the bottoms, I also cut 3 in. off the legs of the shelves so I could gain some headroom. I went to the depot and bought a green cfl bulb in case I want to pay a visit while they sleep. I also ordered a couple of 105 watt CFLs that will be for the 2 mother plants. The temps down here have been increasing so I'm gonna have to get some cooling in the room soon. A friend gave me a dehumidifier that wasn't working well so I cleaned the evaporator coil on it and it's working like a charm, those things don't come with a filter and they should. This unit sucks the air through the evaporator and then discharges it through the condenser and out a side vent which is ok to dehumidify but not to cool down the room. I don't know how many btus it is but if its at least 5k I'll mount the condenser in the exhaust of my cool tube.
Pics
1- The ladies I hope basking in the fluoros while I work in the room
2- the larger clone which I trimmed all the old growth from
3- the smaller clone also trimmed
4- The new tub installed and ready to go

Well today could have been catastrophic, got home from work and found the leaves drooping, I discovered the pump timer hadn't fed the presumed ladies this morning. I folear watered them a bit and they perked up. I drilled out the security screws of the timer and discovered that the socket where the pump plugs into had a ton of solder but those chinks failed to solder the neutral connection, I resoldered the connection tested the timer and fed the babies. I also stopped and bought a 12" oscillating fan to replace the microwave fan I had been using. I'm considering taking a clone from each plant and putting the 3 larger plants to flower but my veg area is not ready, I wish I had the room to make a third grow area but for now it's out of the question. I need to get a couple of 5 gallon bubbleponic setups for the 2 clones and acquire a bigger air pump. I'll post pics tomorrow..............

Thanks Mr B, most of my equipment is homemade. The big cost was insulating the shed where it's all happening. I love the AK, I have been growing it outdoors in the off season for quite some time. A recent close call made me come inside. I'm going to check out your family in a minute.

They didn't seem to suffer, close call though. I'll post some pics in a few.

Thanks Mr B, I'm inexperienced at the hydro but I did a lot of reading before I jumped in.

This hydro grow is tricky, I hope it's worth it in the end. The first time I ran the nutes I only had to add minimal PH down to get it to 6 and after a couple of days the PH went up quickly, I went a couple of days with high PH. Yesterday I checked and it was at 6, today it had risen and was alkaline. I'm going to make it a point to check daily til I get the feel for the FF nutes! The dehumidifier is the real bummer, I wanted to make into an A/C but the condenser and evaporator are in the same coil. I decided to turn it in to a split system of sorts. I have a 9k btu A/C unit in the shed so I'm going to eliminate the evaporator on it and tap into the compressor and condenser. I'll post some pics as I move along with the conversion. Here's todays pics....

1- The dehumidifier with the outer covers removed.
2- I chopped into the refrigerant circuit, cut the excess plastic from around the drain pan and turned the fan facing up. This pic was before I screwed it together. The entire coil will be the evaporator when I'm done.
3- The ladies I hope a little while ago.
4- The 4 AKs and 8 bagseed. The roots are developing nicely.

very nice bro, yea ph is very important in hydro and soil less medium. some ppl say check ph 3 times a day but that might be overkill. i think once a day should be fine

Hey dikncider, just caught up with your grow, lots really nice and clean. I'm a soil man personally but I definately respect hydroponic growers and love cannabis regardless :weed:. I would suggest getting your pH down to 5.7-5.8 for a hydro grow like yours, the more basic you get from 5.6 the more hydro plants tend to suffer. The plants look really healthy though mate and I love the level indicator. Keep it up, I'm subscribed

Well today I checked in on the brood before I left for work and the ph had risen, I adjusted it and when I returned from work it had risen again. I think in a couple of days it should stabilize. I took a couple of clones from the stinkiest plant and 1 from stinkie #2. I also continued with the A/C project. My 2 new 105W CFL bulbs should arrive tomorrow so I'll try to get at least one of them going.

pics;
1- the evaporator guts are nearly ready, I must have left my acetylene tank open cause it was almost empty, I was able to unsolder the necessary joints and I assembled all the new piping connections, to be continued.....
2- they continue to grow about an inch a day, the tallest is 10 1/2 in.
3- the new clones, by the way that's one of those containers that a cooked chicken comes in.

She's the mother of the 2 clones in the tub, she's 2nd gen. I thought she had hermied on me and I threw her outside when she was about 6" and a few weeks later I checked up on her and she had blown up with 4 colas on her so I took the 2 clones that are in the tub, those are going to be the new mothers. She's only about 16" tall. healthy though.

I'm using foxfarm nutes, my city water is ph8 and the nutes bring down the ph to around 7 in the beginning but gradually the ph goes up, at some point it will stabilize, that's what happenned to the previous batch.
