Trimming Question.

I'm sending 36 lovely ladies into flowering. If I cut the bottom 1/3 off of the plants, do I do that right when I put them into flowering, or do I wait for them to get used to the environment then do it a week later? Let me know, thanks.

Is it ok for me to trim them and put them into flowering at the same time... I mean I know it's ok cause I've done it before, but I feel I might be inhibiting my plants full potential. Should I wait till they adjust from the 400W MH to the 1000W HPS or is that rubbish and I kill two birds with one stone and just do it now?

how big r they...what r they? and how long have they been growing? the usual ?'s
2 different Indica's both 8 week flowering times all about a ft and a half tall... Been growing for 2 years and this is my 7th harvest. Ha my God my life would be crazy if I had just started growing and decided I was gonna take on 36 plants. I know my way around the garden, just always have taken my bottom 1/3 when I put them into flowering. Before I went experimenting I thought I would ask some advice to someone who does it differently that I do. :peace:

ur suppose to make ur cuts 2weeks B4 flowering so if u make any cuts give it a week or 2 longer veg
I know that isn't true... been doing this too long to know that a plant can be cut in the first stages of flowering. I wish people would only respond when they legitimately know what they're talking about.

Anyone done this before? Crack an egg of knowledge on me! I'm gonna just do my own thing and see what happens if no one has anything for me. I'll be sure to post my results just wish someone has done this before so I can skip the trial and error you know what I'm saying? Take care and thanks in advance.

i like to trim 1-2 weeks prior to flowering so they can recover b4 the big strech. i feel if you trim once your into flower that your takeing away and causeing your plant to stress while its trying to flower ,which will cause more days to finish and take a chance of goin "hermy"

Much appreciation... I don't know what all this "don't cut during flowering business" people are saying. I'll stick them into flowering today and wait a week or two and take the bottom 1/3 off and let the plants just go from there only trimming fan leaves that cover bud sites from that point on. Take care and again, thanks!

I think that's supposed to be 'don't top or prune your plants' while in flowering. That's removing growth tips or fan leaves, not bottom branches. I'm currently trying one trim at 12/12 and then a second at 2-3 weeks in. This is what I've found to be the generally accepted method.

Word... I appreciate it man. Yea, at 12/12 is what I've always done before. I figured the topping and pruning was considered a no no. It makes sense that's what others were talking about, but saying you can't trim your plant at all during flowering is just weird to me. Anyway, thanks for the info... great response.

Such anger... With defensiveness like that, you obviously were picked on and neglected as a child. I recommend therapy, someone like you needs to talk about their problems rather than bottling them up. You'll be ok kid... Good luck with all that and happy growing!

Oh and DookeyNugs408... All bullshit aside, careful what you say on here man. Or at least be tactful with how you insult people's intelligence. Throwing four letter words around as insults shows your age and ignorance and is what people base the level of respect they give you. I'm just saying admins are floating around everywhere and will flag you. It definitely doesn't ever go away on your profile either just look at mine. Be careful, just a friendly heads up.
