Male preflower? or am I trippin?

My roomate and I just switched our lighting to 12/12 last thursday, so we've been looking for preflowers everyday. I was looking and I noticed this, this is our first grow so I'm not 100% sure if it's showing it's preflower yet or if it is another stem growth. I checked out some of the pre flower pics but I just wanted some opinions. Thanks.

Jus wait it out a few more days. I thought I had a dude plant too but I waited a few days and it turned out female. So jus be patient for a few more days

If you're force flowering, then you could be waiting for up to 2 weeks for sex to show. My rule of thumb is to veg untill pre-flowering stage...then you know what you have, and from there it's mere days before buds are growing.

how long on a average does it take you? im close to 6-7 weeks and looking this time 8" tall. i also have one with the little ball on it. i just flowered and get what i got, tips?

im running a dual 3 foot STEALTH CABs i have to flower @ 8" of they get too tall, and my 150w hps gets too close, i use lst and/or topping to keep em short

It' really depends on the strain...but most F1's today will start to show sex by week 6. It' can take up to 13 weeks for plants to show sex.

My last grow...all plants showed sex at week 5, and all were female (from my own cross breed). If height is an issue try LST, FIM, topping, super-cropping, those methods prove to be very handy to grow some massive short bushes.
