NIIIICE DUDE...!!!!!

Just make sure the RW is not too wet...

My cubes weigh 4g dry and 30 grams damp...

Never wet... and never squeeze it either... it crushes the airspace in the cube...

Just remember.. damp, never wet...
ooops. lol. i did wet them, then a little squeeze at the bottom. let 'em dry out for a while and then sprayed them with ph'd water and rhizotonic.

are you going to lollipop these?

they are for urbanfunk. he only lives up the road :shock:. two bag seed and two blue cheese.

anyways how you doing bro?

up since 3:30...

Next time, you over wet the cubes... NEVER SQUEEZE them...

Just place it on top pf a paper towel and it will share the water... repeat until it is DAMP... NEVER WET...

I would also remove the humidome and quit spraying...

Make them thirsty so they make roots... if you keep it too moist, it may never root....

Make them NEED roots...

Here is what might happen...

...and here is a prime example of a clone that was kept too wet and never developed roots...

:shock:

...this is the root system at the day of harvest...

...that's 3 weeks trying to root with the other clones and 2 moths flowering without roots...

...how about that ?!?!?...

:confused:

i removed the lid and bent the first clone in the row :hump:. in 5 minutes it looks almost dead. anyway cut the stem further up and stuck it back in. if it dies, never mind, i'll just take another cutting.

gypsy, what size rez you running i.e. how much solution.

cheers. i'll go with a smaller pump than 500lph.

that clone is fucked so i binned it and took another. i also put the cubes on some paper towel, they were definitely still to wet. i may need to do the blue cheese again as well. i removed them from the hole and the stems have shrunk in diameter. looks like they are trying to restrict water uptake.

Rot...

I say cut the again and put them on a DAMP cube...

Do you have a digi scale?
Damp weight = 75% of ten times the dry weight

x = 75% of 40 grams (mine weigh 4g dry)

x = 30 grams for a perfect damp cube (starting from 4g)

If the weigh 6g dry...

x = 75% of 60g

x = 45g...

does that make sense...???

no scales i'm afraid. these are the same size as the ones you use.

i cut the restricted parts of the stem off now. if things don't pick up for the blue cheese i'll swap out the cubes for fresh ones, which i will just lightly spray.

I was going to say no need for nw cubes, but you crushed them didn't you??

Basically, you want it to a point where they fell almost dry to your lips... but after a second or so you can feel the moisture...

and you can pretty much dry out a cub with paper towel... just keep doing it... don't squeeze it...

In all honesty, when they are just right, they feel too light and dry...

and quit spraying, you're not a crop duster...lol... water the cubes daily and keep everything else dry, this will create a situation where they root or die...

ok so damp cubes, no misting, no water anywehere other than the damp cube...

i was meaning mist the cubes with my spray gun. is that ok?

Sure...

What I was talking about was just how I see somany people creating almost 100%rh for cloning and then they get mad because they didn't get roots...

If it gets enough water through the stem and leaves, it may never root...

But how you water the cube is up to you, as long as you don't over do it...

Al replenishes his by dipping one corner in the water for 1 sec...

But that is the daily refill, not the initial..

Also, he recommends pH 5.5 for the water on the cubes as it will rise slowly..

cheers mate. i've put them in new cubes that i misted top and bottom slightly. they still feel pretty much dry. yeah ph should be as close to 5.5 as possible using my drops. yellow with a hint of orange. i've raised the tray up now, closer to the light, using the lid. the propagator is not turned on.

Clones also don't need much light..

Actually they don't need much at all..

Just a little water... most people do so much to their clones they die...

Just let them be...

however you think is best, but let them be...

and I water from the bottom... but it really doesn't matter that much cause the RW wicks like crazy and spreads the humidity...

It is better to have them too dry, and when they wilt you water it, than to have it too wet and rot the stem...

You'll get it... :blsmoke:

Have you re-read Al's threads... in full....

Unless you read the whole thing you might miss something...

Do it like home work... 4 pages a day or something...

oh and you can read Al's responses only, he qupets the questions and filters out the bullshit...

Cuts the reading in half...:mrgreen:

Oh Fuck Steve... I feel bad now...

Sorry mate... i was trying to help...

You may have to start over...

But I would try one last thing... hehehe...

Cut the bigger leaves in half... so they will transpire less.. reducing some of the water needed within the plant...

gypsy, you've lost me know. why may i have to start over?

i reread al b's cloning stuff btw.

to take my mind off these clones i took some porn pics. also helps me feel like i'm not a complete numpty. didn't have this grief with cloning in the aerogarden. i'd stick them in there but it's running grow nutes and the pump is broken.
