im trying a DWC bucket in my grow for a test-run. im also starting to use mychorazai (spelling?) with my rockwool/hydroton mix. what im wondering is if its worthwhile to use the fungi in the DWC system or would it just be contiually rinsed away.

I think that most people doing DWC prefer to keep their systems sterile. A lot of people use products like h2o2, watermax, zone etc which all kill beneficial bacteria as well as pythium etc.

There is no reason not to use myco with a dwc system, but to me, I think it is best left to a medium that can provide a good enviornment for these bacteria/fungi to live. Such as soil, soilless, coco etc.

Using DWC as a method of growing, I would prefer to keep my buckets clean. Good bacteria or bad, you will really gunk up your system and possibly clogg airstones. Not saying you can't do it, but I wouldn't. I choose to use beneficials/fungi in my coco and try to keep my dwc sterile. Just my opinion.

ahhh, i mostly grow with RW in hydroton. but im trying a couple DWC buckets and so far am very impressed with the growth rates. i think ill go w/ h2o2 instead of micro-beasties in the buckets.

thanks for your input.:leaf:
