I veg with T-5 and thought about going 12/12 with them, but after reading an article in High Times I decieded to stick with hps. The reason for that is (article) when you flower with t-5 (red) you get more trichs but smaller, fluffy bud.
But what if the last 2 weeks you switched from hps to t-5?

I have used them as additional lighting to my hps but not alone just dont think that you could get the same quality smoke with t5's as a hps even if it does give better trich production

Floro's were all they used before HPS was invented and had great results and thats all they had to use, so I have to assume that the newer floros are even better than the old ones.. I also heard that an 8 bulb T5 was better than 1 600w hps.Esp for a small closet grow or sog/scrog or w/e.

ya that's real nice. right now i'm using a a short T5 for veg, 2 foot 4 bulbs about 100watts i think, does the job real well, but i go 550watts of HPS for flower (400+150)

my next flower is going to be my last until next winter though so i'll be adding the T5 to the HPS for about 650 watts total, better spectrum cover i'm lookin forward to seein the results...still thats 3-4 months away
