DIY 3 Gallon Rubbermaid DWC

Swale is right about root size. If you want to grow 4 footers, you have to have plenty of room for the roots.

Not to worry, though. All you need is bigger tubs. In these 3 gallon tubs I was able to grow up to (3) 3-footers at once, but I had to refill the rez almost every day so I cut it back to 2 per tub just to be safe.

If you used something like a 30+ gallon reservoir you could grow maybe 3 4-footers in one of them. But if I were planning on growing trees, I'd switch to the "hempy bucket" method with ebb & flow.

I bought a 43x18x18 rubber maid tote for 13 dollars... Im not sure how many gallons but I was hoping I could fit 10 3 foot plants using this? think that is enough?

it should say how much it holds, probably in litters, 10 plants in one system is alot

I would suggest growing maybe 4 or 5 in that size tub and SCROG them bitches.

If you were to have a five gallon bucket set up Dwc , say it was a northern soul sprout in root wool and it could be about 2-3 in tall the root is showing on bottom of root wool, Problem is my buddy just ordered his nutes yesterday and isn't getting them until monday. will this plant survive what should I tell him to do?

If your plant is only 2-3 inches tall, it will be absolutely fine until monday. They don't need much food at an early age. When you DO get your nutes, don't give them a full dosing. Start at 1/4 strength for a week. Then slowly increase your nutrient level every watering until you reach full dosage.

I'm thinkin' of makin' some DWC tubs with rubbermaid stuff for t3h flowering chamber. Once shit is running I'll probably but clones 4-6 weeks old into flowering.

I have an 18-gal roughneck tote that I was to put 4 plants in. I assume thats big enough to grow 4 plants that could be maybe 3-4 feet tall. I've grown in soil and soiless mediums in pots, I don't know any "rules of thumb" for knowing how big plants will be/should be/can be for DWC grows.

How did you attach the air stones to the rubber maid? I used 7 min plastic epoxy but when I filled the container up to check for leaks the bottom kinda flwxed under the weight and broke the epoxy bond... I canfigure out what to do...

Don't worry about gluing them to the tub, it isn't necessary.

I used one 10" in mine for quite a while with good results, but the more O2 the better.

You can. But be very careful with it when they are little bitty babies because it can burn them. Start with about 1/4 tsp/gallon of 17% strength. Then work it up gradually as they get older.

i never added the hydrogen peroxide. after reading about some hydrogenator liquid that you can buy from hydro store. It takes the bacteria out and turns it into food for the plants....? or should i just put H202 in?

Well to be quite honest, your roots look very healthy as is. So at this point I wouldn't use either H2o2 or that "hydrogenator" stuff.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But for the future, if you are using chemical (non-organic) nutrients, I'd go for the H2o2. But get that at the hydro store, you'll break the bank buying that weak ass stuff you get at the drug store.
