Thanks for the help guys! I am turning a 4' wide 20" deep 7' tall two door cabinet into a grow cabinet.Swale is right about root size. If you want to grow 4 footers, you have to have plenty of room for the roots.
Not to worry, though. All you need is bigger tubs. In these 3 gallon tubs I was able to grow up to (3) 3-footers at once, but I had to refill the rez almost every day so I cut it back to 2 per tub just to be safe.
If you used something like a 30+ gallon reservoir you could grow maybe 3 4-footers in one of them. But if I were planning on growing trees, I'd switch to the "hempy bucket" method with ebb & flow.
I bought a 43x18x18 rubber maid tote for 13 dollars... Im not sure how many gallons but I was hoping I could fit 10 3 foot plants using this? think that is enough?
