100w HPS good for 2x2?

Right now i'm only using 2 42w cfl's for sprouting 2 plants in a 2x2ish cabinet.

Will that light do for 2 or 3 plant's and also how good will the ventilation have to be due to the heat?:wall:
100 watt good for 2X2?


  • 100 watt lights: 1.5FT x 1.5FT growing area
  • 150/175 watt lights: 2FT x 2FT growing area
  • 250 watt lights: 3FT x 3FT growing area
  • 400 watt lights: 5FT x 5FT growing area
  • 600 watt lights: 6FT x 6FT growing area
  • 1000 watt lights: 8FT x 8FT growing area

the rule of thumb is 50watts per sq foot of light for a good crop the more the better o yes the 100w will do that size no problem how tall is the room you want to grow in will depend on how much extraction you will need all though what ever size it is you would only need a small fan such as a p.c fan will do the job easy.

p.s try to take the fixture appart and only have the bulb in the room with the reflector because the ballast will add just as much heat to the room as the bulb its self.
