HTG supplies baby, they got it here likity split and under 3 days!

400w MH/HPS conversion. I'll have pics tonight or tomorrow depending on when I get a camera next.

:blsmoke:
Yea there a good company. Got a 400 watt hps and a sick tent from them. Yo have you grown these strains before outside? Also where did you buy your beans?

Got ma beans from attitude. Heard great things, made one purchase and got it super fast and discrete. All of these seedlings are thriving right now under this light :blsmoke:

i wish you guys could SEE the lighting in my closet now.

this shit is unreal. I had no idea it was going to be this bright haha. :-o

Anyone know the MAX safety temp of seedlings/vegetative? My humidity is good right now, bouncing back from 40%-50% but my temps just reached about 81-82 degrees Fahrenheit.

Your temp is alright just don't let it get any hotter. Around 78-82 F is good. For your relative humidity I would try boosting that. Put some clear plastic cups or something over each one so its like a little dome with higher humidity. Right now I have a bunch just cracking their shells and the humidity is around 89-90%.

DAY 7

Is there any other way to increase humidity?

as you can see I have plenty of light and I might be able to control the temperature with another fan, but I've heard of things like adding a cup of water in there for humidity. :o

What's the best average humidity for seedlings/vegetative? I thought 50% was good but I guess not

I know it's only been one day, but they seem a little stalky and reaching for the light. How far away is a 400w MH supposed to be? I've got it @ about 4' 2".

Should be within 5 inches!!! Haha your plants are going to stretch like a bitch man if you dont get that light closer. It should be as close as you can get it without it being too hot near them. You should be able to put your hand in between the top of the plants and the light and not have it "burn". Should be warm. Mist some water on them to increase humidity.

How's this?

Closer. Just dont put them too close so they feel hot.
Ok the reason I haven't put them closer is because the edge pots don't get AS much light as the middle (obviously).

So should I still move it closer and risk losing more light from the side ones? I'm sure after a few more days I can figure out which pots to get rid of (dead seeds).

Thanks again for all the swift help.

Edit: I had them in those green plastic cups but they were transparent and had shitty drainage, so I transplanted them into proper ones.

I would try to get the light as close as possible to as many as you can or put those other lights you had back in there too.

Where would a good spot be to position a small stationary fan in my closet? I have been moving it around a little bit, but just looking for suggestions. Thanks

Heat rises so if you can have the fan up above the light blowing out that would be good. I have a bunch of those fans and they work pretty well.

nice yea I have the fan blowing out towards the door/crack of the door and it's aiming somewhat down to strengthen the seedlings.

Again, appreciate the help but I've been reading that seedlings can't handle MH very well, especially at such a close distance. I've been reading 2-3 feet is good then slowly bring it to about 12-16 inches.

Once again you know much more than me, I'm just concerned and don't want to burn the shit out of my babies. Let me know what you think. Thanks :)

Also the heat is getting somewhat an issue, so I'm going to purchase another 1 or 2 fans in the near future.

Im just going by experience. I put my seedlings right under my mh. HPS lights are a different story. They get much hotter than MH so they need to be further away. When you put your hand between the plants and your light does your hand hurt or is it warm?

indoors and out...
yoyo: Yea it's warm and I've got it at about 1.5 feet.

I could probably lower it a little more if I just go by the "heat on the hand" test.

jordis: rad I'll watch it if you watch mine :)

How important is humidity for seedlings? I know it's fairly important but just today it's gone from 50% to 25% now it's up to about 28%. I sprayed them about 45 min ago and it seemed to bring it up a bit, but now it's back down again.

Do you think this is cause I have the door open now for better cooling?

Yep. Im tellin ya plastic cups are the way to go. Just make sure there clear.
Ok I'll test that out thanks main. What about misting/spraying? I heard watering like once a day is good, get it nice and drenched in the morning hours and then let it get almost bare dry, but I heard spraying keeps them slightly wet and keeps humidity up.
