For all the people who thought paper was a bad idea

i used lined paper for a lining in my grow box im using 26w 6500k cfls it runs this box about 77f with a comp fan well im a month and a 1/2 into using this box

i had a bunch of people tell me my house was going to burn down well proof positive no fires

its fine yes im cheap to bad ya'll buy my supplies then you can bitch and common sense prevails yet again:-o

The ignition point of paper is over 200C.... CFLs don't operate anywhere near that high of temperature.

HID lamps exceed it.

Paper is highly transmissive, it's really not that's great of an idea.

its better than the brown color of the box i may get some flat white paint soon

Paper and cardboard absorb moisture and encourage mold. It IS a bad idea, even if it has worked so far.

nothing wrong with that setup. and as for the mold thing, if you have plenty freash air flow you won't see that problem. looks good.

y not just grab some spray paint 1 can black, 1 can white. Put the black down to make sure light doesn't leak out and white on top to reflect.

What are you planning to grow with one cfl and a cardboard box?

this box is just for germ and veg i have a bigger spot for them after there grown up a little bit and now there are two cfls in there you can see that in one of the pics

i got about 3 1/2 feet of vertical growing room but i had to lst the shit out of her or she would be 5 foot tall with a five gallon bucket and im using

6, 23w 2700k cfls and one 46w 2700k cfl

there are still clothes in ths closet on the other side so i dont want to use hps bulbs i cant get rid of the heat

as long as you stick with the cfl's you shouldnt have a fire hazard lining with paper. if you switch to a hps or mh, you may want to be careful :p cfl's dont even get too warm to the touch to worry at least.
