the problem is if the police fly by for somthing else may be looking for a missing/ wanted person your house is going to show up hotter than every other house arround you They can take this info and still use it may be pull you over more offten to searh your car all they need to say is i can smell weed on you and thats enough to search your house.

just by covering your grow room with foil (there other better things called space blankets) you are stoping the IR from penatrating the walls, but that heat still has to go somewhare or the room is going to get very hot so its going to need to be vented this needs to be looked at because 4k of hot exhausted air is going to look like a water fountain through a FLIR camera.

you need to some how hide that heat by i.e venting down the sewer or using water cooled light pumping water round the light from the tap and continuasly running the warm water down the drain no heat will be seen.

can you split the grow in 2k run at night then 2k in the day the grow is running 24 hours a day but at 1/2 the wattage FLIR is usless in day light unless the air coming out the vent is hotter than the ambient air temperature outside. then all you need to worry about is 2k of heat in the night that should not draw attention if you can vent it round the rest of your house to disperse the heat better.

my question about it is this... attics are notoriously hot.... what then is the issue with venting your hot air into the attic????

yeha i believe its illegal for DEA to randomly search with thermal imaging, they can only do it if someone snitches on you, and then i think they look for heat exiting through a vent, so if your heat vent it a lot hotter then the rest of your area might be an indication

no it isn't, choppers fly around looking for any heat source. They do not need a warrant to use thermal imaging.

Well thats what I think Im going to do vent straight into the attic and that should be fine the temps that vent rite now are probably around 80-90 degrees thats it so I dont think this would be a problem. My concern was them being able to pick up heat through the walls and roof so these eases my mind. RIU Fuckin Rocks!!!

im in an old house that was built before ac... my attic has large vents on 3/4 sides... so i think im okay to vent into the attic

yeh.. when I lived in AL my attic was so goddamned hot that after about 5 seconds of standing in there I started to sweat.

attics are hot in the summer time and cold in the winter you vent up there in the winter and it will be seen from miles away by a helicopter using FLIR, not the best of ideas i have heard.

since when have police played fair? if they think you are growing weed they will hound you untill they catch you. they can walk passed your house and say the can smell cannabis they then go to the court to get a warrant that they know will show unusal heat take that to the courts who will isue a warrant to go smash your door down.

Rite as long as it stays around 65 and maybe 80 I should be fine. Ill soon be working 2000w in my flowering room and 1000w in my veg so well see If I can pull it off.

So would a heat sig show up if using a 600watter venting to the attic in my garage??? (may use some of that IR blocking material inside attic too!) I also would be using insulated ducting and a extra in-line booster fan to futher cool the air...<long duct run...15' or so...whatta ya think?

I think youll be fine thats the thing if you vent to the attic I think thats totally stealth. Im running 1000w now and will be running 3000w next grow. Witht that being said 600w no prob bob.

Ok Im wondering if anyone knows how thermal imaging works? I mean can the heat be picked up on other sides of walls or roofs?
