Not to jump into this arguement, but I've tried both CFLs and HPS. Well the HPS was just used to flower after vegging with CFLs, and the CFL experiment was for a full grow from seed to finish under CFLs. From my experience, the buds grown under HPS stacked up much nicer. The calyxes stacked better and were much more compact, and the bud was much more dense. The full CFL grow produced some beautiful bud, but the density and quality was lacking compared to the buds flowered under HPS. I guess each has it's advantages, but I'd go with HPS for quality bud.

Jump away! It was a hilarious thread from the start.
I only use CFLs for veg now. I have used CFLs in the past for flowering and noticed the same thing you did, WoldOfWeedcraft ...very light and fluffy buds. Not my favorite for smokables. I can't say whether or not this was strictly due to the lighting or not. Don't really care to investigate.
I do rather love CFLs for vegging. I have 2 veg. rooms: 1 600w HPS and 1 4x46w CFL. It would appear to me that I get the same growth out of my CFLs that I do with my HPS. I have to worry much less about the temps in my CFL room, which as far as I can see, is the main appeal.

This has nothing to do with any light type versus another. They are identical lumens, as stated. And they are the same color temperature.

So everyone who voted for blue or green. Your perception is flawed. They are the same. And you let solely visual perception cloud your judgment. Surprise -surprise!

The 3rd choice is the correct choice. But my first post explains that! :dunce:

Great to see 11(green+blue) vs 10(correct answer). And I voted for the correct answer. So really, 11 vs 9

This forum has failed a fundamental concept in light physics(45% got it right or didn't know). Congratulations. No wonder people think weed should be illegal.

See that's what you are missing. Regardless of being the same lumens, it's always the same story. HPS produces higher yeilds of more compact, more dense, more potent bud.

Stop telling us they are equal when they've been tried and tried and tried and it's always shown that HPS is better.

still no links to your grow journals though huh TeaTree?

I do not document evidence against myself. I consider doing so idiotic(I might as well call up the police right now, and inform on myself). Not to say all the people with grow journals are idiots, as many do it legally.

Even seen The Usual Suspects? Remember the end? You had no idea who's who until the end!

Don't look like a criminal, and don't get caught. Simple as that!

Pathetic...I'm going to unsubsribe from this thread and go talk to some people that actually grow marijuana instead of someone with excuses for not doing it and the overwhelming desire to prove those wrong that ACTUALLY grow.

That's one way to read it.

Posting pics of your ideal cartoon self again, eh, t@intshredder.

This has nothing to do with spectrum comparison. They are identical. The only difference between lights is intensity, as stated.

The green/blue refer to the hood colors as you may be able to make out at the start of the animation. I also explained which is which among the two.
We get your point, but I think the point the rest of us are making, is, no gives a shit. HID >>>>> T5 >> CFL > LED

If you grow with HID, no one want some shitty CFL "supplemental" lighting...

Compare the light generated from Hid exerienced post on this thread,
to the dark created by our CFL experiences. What do you get?

Okay, since everyone here seems to be a light expert... I have a test for you all.

Really simple. Really.... Two questions.

Q1) Can you list them in order of highest intensity to least?
Q2) Can you list them in order of highest color temperature to least?

Bonus Question: Which one is really 7 bulbs of different intensities and color temperatures superimposed?

Can't wait for the results!

where are the plants? :-|

i'm tired of every post in this thread being reported. you all either learn to argue like adults, or don't argue.
