I don't know about the whole lights out thing, just switch it in the morning so it will be 12 for the day. Switch whenever your plant is 1/3 to 1/2 the final size you want.

not sure what would happen if u did 36 hours dark but u can veg as long as u want to, it just gets bigger and u put it into flower when u want it to produce buds, flowering increases the size by 2 -3 times more, so it really al depends on how much room u have to work with

Cheers :)

actually, my grower buddy (he's got old/new skool experience) told me to give the plants 24 of dark b4 i switch over, so the budding metabolism shifter chemicals get 2 build up (ghetto flower forcing?). Im not sure if i will, but that;s his stance on it...

Everyone will have opinions on this. Since you are beginning, try an easy 3 part system. General Hydroponics has good systems. The Dutch line is great as well. Try and go organic on it. The flush will be cut down furthere getting you closer to smoking!

Good luck!

what is the best bloom juice?

I was talking about the nutrients you feed your plants with.

The organic nutes in either Hydroponics or Soil grows are Obviously beneficial for all grows. Point in question is nutes... Organic nutes dont really have to be flushed out like other nutes. When using chemical nutes, a 1 to 2wk flush is crucial for taking away that chemical taste. Pure water in the last 2wks.

Hence the cutting back on flush. A 2 day flush ( organic nutes used) will be more than enough. Now that you cut almost 2wks of flushing you can go straight to the curing process! But thats a whole other thread! hahah

are you saying that by having to flush a plant, it will therefore take more time to finish? i hadn't heard this b4, but it makes sense i think?

thanks for the info, that def. makes sense... i hadn't understood your context previously.
but the bud still takes an equal amount of time to finish....
