Hey Guys...

Sorry I have not been around as much lately...

The Doc has cleared me for some light duty activities and I have been outside and off the bed as much as I can...

Gypsy my room is 6 feet wide, 3 feet deep, and 6 feet tall.
Cool, we need to find you some 3x3 trays that are not exactly 3x3, none are accurate, but the WHITE botanicare trays should fit, they are also some of the thicker material out there...

I have managed to get the daytime temps down to a constant and relaible 78 degrees F.
That is good...

So they start at 62, 63 and get up to 78, which is a 16-17 degree drops.
That is great Jesse...

Ideal, yes?
ABSOLUTELY!!!

My RH is down to 40% during the day in the flower room.....nice :-)
Yup yup...

Ok guys get back to me!
So yeah.. you need the trays with the fittings, water pumps (I use 185gph pump on my 3x3), a reservoir... and you are all set...

So, when do we start?

No problem bro glad you're doing better! We can start now, depending on how much the trays and res and water pump and fittings are gonna cost. Any ideas?

Im thinking well over a z each but its hard to tell when the nugs are so spread out ! If each lil nuglet only weighs a gram dried you should still be sittin pretty good! I got over a z each from my biggest three but i only had a few bigger nugs on each you have a ton of smaller ones hard to tell:) and i cant beleive how big the barbwire got ! If you remember i started my first batch in crap soil so it took forever to get going! I cant wait to see how many fems you get the last three i did were all girls!

no doubt! Ah well, in the long run, it was worth the investment in terms of what i have learned!! Thanks for stopping by! :joint:

Yeah, i can't say that i am happy with my cfl's. I want gigantic buds, lol! My cfl's just haven't given them to me! I think that if i would have pruned my plants better, had better ventilation, watered a bit less (amount) and a bit more (frequency), etc etc etc, then maybe i would be satisfied, who knows...

So i checked the trichs on both plants 1 and 2. I have about 25% amber or more on some samples. So, i have decided that tomorrow will be their chop time. Once i turn the lights off here shortly, they will sit in the dark for 24 hours and then i am gonna cut the whole stalk and hang the whole plant upsidedown until it's nice and dry. I plan on curing well and i used organics, so i am not worried about a flush. I did water them today with one gallon, but the only thing i added was 1/3 teaspoon of an carboload and 1 tablespoon of molasses. So....poll time!! Guess my yield (dry weight)!! I will be 100% honest, don't worry!

Next, i found some cheap used hps ballasts, reflectors, and bulbs at a "re-build" store. They were $10 bucks each! 250 watt hps! I have one wired up and running now, check out the pics! I ditched the cfl's in my veg room and hooked up the hps to test it out. Works great. Runs hot though, i am having temp issues, like 80f. Working on it though. :-|

once i chop the two big girls tomorrow, i will have my big closet to work with though. So, for now, i plan on having 2x 250 watt hps' going. I plan on picking a mother and cloning her to feed a constant 12/12 cycle, no veg. Just a few cfl's to keep mom alive. Gypsy is going to help me plan out my new system in time, but this is better in the short term and only cost me $20 bucks. I will use less power, have less heat, and get more bang. I don't think the heat will be an issue in the now-flower room, given that its way bigger than my current veg room, where i have the hps hooked up and am having trouble getting the temp below 80f.

Well anyway, i am blazed as shit and have rambled on long enough. Good night and grow big!!! :peace: :joint: :leaf:

Thanks!

Well, do you want to use manufactured parts?

Or is DIY good enough for you?

Here in Alaska (read high prices due to shipping) I have paid $130 for each tray...

185 GPH pumps I use are $20...

The fill/drain & overflow fittings are $15...

I got a rubbermaid 100 gallon stock tank for $100...

Totes can be used as reservoir, but I would shy away from the flimsy ones... there are some tough boxes out there... but then again, a 30 gal or 50 gal stock tank would last forever and never crack or leak...

The trays can be made from those "under the bed" style totes, or even regular ones that you cut to about 7" high...

If you have the dough, buy it...if things are tight, make it....

and if you are not sure, just make 1 small set-up to see how it goes...

My first ebb/flow DIY was with the smallest totes and I could still fit 8x 6" round pots... and 5 have since gone to 5.5" square ones...

ok.. so what's next... I'll be in and out all day, so I'll be back....

Guys I have been busy as hell! I have a big update coming soon with lots of pics but for now......

Dried I got 92.3 grams off my two plants. So 3.33 z's or so! Pretty good huh!?? Not great but I will take it!

Wink, the Barb have all grown preflowers after 3 days of 12/12! I planted 11 more today and 12 are germing with no activity as yet! I took 14 clones of the Barb while doing the "final" pruning of them for my attempt at lollipopping. Well let me know what you all think!

Gypsy I will get back to you about all this stuff next week I have the whole week off. Sorry brother.

Chop Update and Info
So, for those of you who might have missed it, I chopped plants 1 and 2 on March 21. After drying them for 4 days, I weighed everything out....92.3 grams total. The nugs are now drying in tightly sealed glass jars in a dark, cool space. How long do you guys cure your nugs?

Plants 3 and 4
They have been flowering now for 63 days and as you can see not too impressive. I have posted a pic of them below. But, they never got enough light, so whatever I get off of them I will be happy with. On a positive note, #4 is by far the most crystallized of all the four plants I had of this type. Plant #3 is a close second though!

Barb Day 31
Give me some feedback here guys, regarding my lollipopping. I have provided some great pics (in my opinion) to let you all see where I am at with these. They have been flowering now since the 22nd of March, and I already have preflowers on all of them! Just waiting to show sex...

Clones
How do they look guys? No yellowing yet at all, but no new growth either. I took them this Monday and they have been under 24/7 light (one 23 watt 6500k bulb). I mist where the stem enters the starter in the morning, along with the tops of the humidity dome and the clones themselves. I used Clonex root hormone and made my cuts underwater, directly transfering the clone into the gel. So, hopefully they will take root! Anyone have experience with a humidity dome or have any other cloning tips or info that I could use? I have done a lot of reading, just so ya'll know.

Barb Day 0
No pics, but I have 18X 16oz cups with a 2:1 Ocean Forest to Light Warrior ratio. I again added RootZone and Dolamite lime, 1 tablespoon per gallon. As soon as they have popped up and look like they have a good root system, I am going to throw them in the flower room and pull 3 and 4. I think I have it timed about right. I want to veg the seedlings for 1 week once they have popped. I know Gypsy, you have said to throw them right into flower. However, I have done a lot of reading and given that I am in soil whereas others who use that technique are in hydro. Therefore, I feel like I need a little veg time to establish a sufficient root system to give me the buds I want. Maybe I am wrong, but for this experiment I am going to test out my theory and see how it works!

Well everyone, I know that's a lot to chew on, but hopefully people will develop a renewed interest in my journal now, since I have so much goin on!!! Peace, love, and all that hippie crap....;-)

Everything looks awesome jess! Im no expert on clones cause i kill a bunch of them ..but the ones in dirt seem the easiest to me.. I think your on your way with the lolly popping and everything else looks cool too! The nugs in jars should "feel" right in a week or so you will know when its right it breaks up like weed you bought, make sense?? Hard to explain just like all the other bs on here we worry about, you know when its right !!great job on the trim work too i think thats important for taste too you dont want to smoke a bunch of leaves!!looks like you have all the details ironed out just start trying to make it better each time:) i think me and you are both good examples of quick learners now its time we help out other people!! I like finding a newb with a few seeds in his closet in beer cups and helping them along its rewarding :)

great work jesse it only gets better from here on out!! , winkdogg

everything looks good man, the bud pics are kinda blurry but the one pic you can see the bud looks good :)

curing !:joint::joint: first week is very important to check them at least twice a day
if they are damp leave jar open for a few hours .... take em out move em around on a plate and if they still feel damp leave them on the plate for a couple hours and put em back in when its crisp on the out side...
Repeat ! until everytime you open the jar they feel a little crisp on the outside.... then you can leave it closed for the whole day and check in morning ....see how they are
if they seem to be geting dryer then you can leave the jar closed for 2 days and see if that brings back any moisture and then check daily again if it does ...

if this makes any sense to you .... awesome !
its kinda done by feel and just checking the jars alot the first week... then after the second week its like once a day or every other.... and then after 3-4 weeks you close to the point where you can leave em closed.

i havent really made it that far with mine .... except i did have some from my first havest that was closed for about 3 weeks ... it was fluffy so it was VERY dry you could make powder easily ..

but you basically cure as long as you can ... id think a month would be great
but there is people who do it for 3-6

i just cure it as long as i can ..... before i smoke it all ...... which gets easier if you have more

...... smoking this blueberry i cured for about 2 weeks now ... and it is quite a bit better . i really can tell a difference !
im pretty nice rite now
any way ... i thought there was something else ... but i forgot:eyesmoke::eyesmoke:

Im gonna have a month and a half gap where i need to keep buying but soon enough i will be on the + side of the weed game:) or at least not spending any money...although i get good heady nugs for 40 a 1/4 so its not so bad..the real tasty stuff is still 50 1/8 but i will have my own soon enough:)

looks like the onset of nitrogen deprovation. Not enough nitro. go get some 4-0-0, dissolve it in water to 800ppm and ph it. after about four days it should start to change
