Is the wrapping paper that is reflective like someone said really good to use like mylar or is it shitty any1 know???

Stick with mylar. It helps reduce heat output from windows (for thermals) and keep heat/cold from leaving keeping your room more constant. Not to mention that the mylar help growth with a 25+% reflection. Its main use it for growth making stalks large will hitting your undergrowth nodes with some extra light.

One problem I found with mylar is if your having a heat problem, mylar will be your worst enemy.

sports authority or anyplace like that should have mylar emergency blankets in the campin section they are 8'x4' and cost like 3$ just be careful they tear easy but cant beat the price

If you go to the Dollar general and buy a 3$ Solar shield for your wind shield it is already insulated and made of mylar. You get a hell of a big sheet. Great for a grow box. If your doing a room they sell wrapping paper made of mylar you can also use at 1$ a roll. But i suggest the Sun shield. It works frikin amazing :) comes in a 24" x 58" sheet, best deal your going to find. Hope this was help full!

i have heard that aluminum is not good for plants because it reflects radiant energy, apparently you are better off with plain white walls.

tell him you are using it for wallpaper at a gaybar you are decorating lol but hes not exactly gonna call the cops because you bought sothing from his store, and ebay is a great way to purchase mylar, the ebay stores i mean not that second hand shit.

Ya i just made a small box for 3 plants. Didn't have anything to coat the walls so I just thru some foil up there for the time being... and hot damn did it get hot! wnt from a 75-82*F to 99 in an hour! I flat out panicked, ripped out the foil like I was digging thru rubble for my child. it was a bad moment. I need better venting tho. i just made this small box for starting a grow, nothing permanent. its a 2ft triangle with 2 CFL's split at each corner for a total of 8550lumen. again, nothing fancy, this is as much for my enjoyment in growing and experimenting as the end product is for smoking. I'll start a thread. It looks like an extreme ghetto pandora's box... arc of the covenant... thing. and with that foil lined in there it was like looking at the sun! lol I mean, I know a solar oven when I see one, but I was just hopeful that little fan would put out.. i'm an idiot.

Dollar store, either look in the camping section for an emergency blanket, or a roll of mylar wrapping paper.
If not mylar, just paint your stuff white.
Actually, I think Wal Mart or someplace like that would be a better bet for the Coleman emerg. blanket.

Omg this is too funny. I literally had to sign up here just so I could comment on this thread.

I was googling "where do I buy mylar" and found this thread. I'm also slightly cautious about employees asking what it's for but it actually has NOTHING to do with growing plants. Don't get me wrong, I live in B.C. Canada and enjoy that too, but it's not even what I was going for.

I do bdsm. I have something called a violet wand which (to over simplify things) is a tool to give safe, pleasurable electric shocks to someone. Mylar is conductive and flexible. Mylar can be used to make whips. Electric whips. Mmmm...

This whole time I just thought that was the only nefarious purpose for mylar.
