Pinching a bud....

I hear a lot of people talking in their grows about taking a bud off to try it during the last 10/20 days of flower.
I want to know, does this have any detrimental effect on the plant?

No, it won't hurt it, I've done it in the past when I had no blow, but best not to over do it.
They are much better when matured, dried and cured properly.

That should be obvious, but when I did I always took a small bud from lower down on the plant, you dont want to upset your cola's.
