Seedling Leaves won't open?

Check out the pic - she just sprouted about 24 hours ago. It looks to me like there is some leftover material from the seed that has wrapped around the baby leaves? What do you guys think?

Temps: 70 F
RH: 70%
pH: low 6's

Thanks guys... I want to know - should I carefully remove that yellow overwrap stuff with tweezers or something? Or should I just give it a couple days and see if it grows out of it?

It will open up more as it grows and lose the shell.
Good luk, keep us posted
The shell is already on the soil near the base there :)

I guess you meant "shell" as in, "all parts of the shell, including that piece still on the plant there"

I'll turn this into a grow journal once I know she isn't dead :)

what is showing in pic 1 is cotleydons(seed leaves) and they will open up and straighten up and your first 2 true plant leaves will appear.
GOOD LUCK.

i know what you're talking about. i get a tooth-pick and grab (gently) the place where the stalk and bottom of cotyledons meet. hold there and use the tooth-pick to pry the skin off. it should come off fairly easy. if it doesn't try again in 24 hrs. i do this damn near every time i germ. beans and there's no worries!

I think I'll wait until tomorrow morning. If it doesn't show any signs of coming off before then, I'll try to pry it off a bit. The cotyledons aren't fully green either, but I think this is probably due to it not opening up well yet. Eek!
