Small white worms in soil

Hello, I recently made my own closet grow..it`s all good but i bought some soil from gardening centre and i noticed that it contains some little white worms in it, I looked through the internet and some say they don`t harm you`re plants some say they do... So what is the conclusion, and if they do harm my plant how will i get rid of them? Please Help with some answers. 10x

Post some pics. for the most part worms are generally good, now if they are little fat grubs then yea toast em.

They are nor larvae i think, beacause they are very tiny..almost microscopic and i dont think there is such larvae, i will try to make some photos but i dont think i have enought zoom, aniway you said worms are in general good...i also read that they airaite soil and improve the quality, i hope it`s not something bat. thks

yeah, gnat larvae...really really tiny...probably feeding on the roots...maybe the length of the tip of a pencil and not much thicker than a strand of hair...usually you get those in bags of MG...had the same problem...at least no one is telling you it is the tap root though. lol.

Some people are fucking morons! I could be too, but I always thought little white worms in soil is terrible! The only worms I ever want to see in any type of soil are earthworms, other than that get rid of em. Use some BT, (Mosquito Dunks, or Safer Catapillar Killer). I would just get the Safer. Whatever it is, it will think the BT is food, eat it and... dead!

If gnats, they will saturate/fill a slice of raw potato placed on your soil surface.
Toss the saturated slice(s) and replace w/fresh until slice comes up clean 2-3 X's in a row. Then they should be gone. Any adults flitting about? Gotta have adult(s) to have larva.

Result of not letting soil dry out enough between waterings. Very common and generally not a killer.

They are ok, if pot worms, they will eat the compost releasing the nutrients to the plants. A very symbiotic relationship with organic material into plant available ammonia (nitrogen for the green growth).

I vermicompost (worm farming) pot worms and mites are a natural part of decompostion they (if pot worms) are harmless. I have a link where they have a few photos of these pot worms, check it out and see if they are your visitors.

No, i dont see any adults around. didn`t have no gnats before...i will try the potato thing. thanks

yeah they look much the same as in the first picture... i hope they are the same beacause as replyed earlier i didn`t had no adult gnats before, those fucking bastards i hate...thanks all for helping i will be making some photos and will post them for others who have the same question, oo and another thing they come out in the dark i think and are light afraid because everytime i open the closet door thei go back in the soil. this i noticed also. thks

Your welcome, unnamed. Pot worms are very common, named such not for marijuana, but flower pot where they are often found. Sticky buds to you.

I've got some white worms in soil too - was wondering if somebody could help to get rid of them. They're tiny small, about 1mm and thin like a hair, squirming and moving very fast, and looks like they can jump for a centimeter or so. Does anybody know what poison will be good, but not too harmful for the plants? Thanks!

I sprinkle cinnamon on my soil to keep them at bay. won't hurt the plant and it kills the little bastards

Thanks for the advice! Do you use ground cinnamon? Shall I just sprinkle it or try to mix it with soil, or may be get in liquid form, if there's any?
A friend said to sprinkle finely chopped chilly pepper - used it as an organic something to kill bugs

i just sprinkle it on top of the soil when i see something flying...it gets mixed in when i water. I use the same type cinnamon that i used to make cinnamon toast! can get it at the 99cents store...LOVE the 99cent store!
