Weird Plant

Ok so my plant started growing nice but once the stem passed its first true leaves its created its first set of 3 leaves one side 3 on the other... but it stopped there the leaves just grew bigger but no true top was ever created just those leaves on top of the main stem(wich stem streched like 4"), so then i started notice growth right above the first true leaves, so after while it looked like the plant had created two more stems coming out the sides and then up. So my question is should i just snip the main stem off right above the new growth or just leave as is?? The main stem and its leaves that refuse to become a top is getting in the way of the two new emerging tops that have seem to take over growth over the main stem.

any info would be appreciated

heres a vid so you dont have to visualize it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7q6vaZxIuk

ok heres a short video clip of what it looks like.. keep in mind this was about 1 week and a half ago, the sides that have grown out have shot up and have already reached the top stem and its leaves.. the leaves on top are just blocking light to lower growth that is actually growing not just idling.

yea thats kind of what I was thinking... somehow the plant re routed growth hormones or something to the sides and the sides have really taken of but the top has been the same no change in 2weeks and know its making a mess.. leaves are getting all jumbled up with one another, thats why I was thinking of snipping that weird looking top part(by the way i dont know what jumbled means just sounds right)

looking at your vid i would treat it like a fan leaf that is in the way LST train it out of the way its got its job to do for the health of the entire plant

Do you remember the top of the plant getting dry or burnt by a bulb or anything similar? I looks like it was topped really early in life.

Let it grow, don't cut anything off. That giant fan leaf is going to take in a shit load of light, I bet that stem ends up with a huge cola on it.
