My rubbermaid carbon filtered grow box

Thanks mammath. Ya ive read a couple places that it takes some strains up to 25 days to show pistils from turning lights back so early. Tonight when I checked the plants (which btw as soon as you poke your head in the attic you can smell it) I saw a lil know in the middle of the node on the haze plant. Hopefully by tommorrow I'll be able to tell. Hopefully there was no light leaks and I don't get a hermie. The gigabud is looking good and so is the GWS. I'm going to have to move the lights up tommorow on that side. I think I am going to have to pick some ona gel up and put it next to the exhaust blow out to get the extra smell. I'm also thinking about converting my old dresser into the new grow box location. The rubbermaid is good but it seems to easy to have a light leak in. The dresser would be one sealed door. with the intakes and exhaust ports ofcourse. Gotta get started on this soon and get 4 pc fans.

Yeah, your not going to get away with light leaks during 12/12.
Here's an idea. You could leave the rubbermaid as a veg box to start them in and have the dresser for your 12/12 action.
Turn over a crop every 8 - 10 weeks.

You will have to do something about the smell.
If they stink now, what about when they're budding.

Ya see thats exactly what I was thinking of doing. I could even keep it perpetutial to get a harvest once a month. I could run a 150w hps in the dresser and leave the cfls alone. I'll probably end up using the cfls for a couple runs to get some money for the new hps. I think the heat is aiding in the smell getting past the carbon filter. I think I am really going to consider the two different box ideas. The 150w is only 90.00 us dollars shipped so thats not too bad. I'll probably be able to get it my next pay check. Now I gotta figure out how to get my jigsaw my mother stole from me back, so I can start building the dresser cab.

Aight guys, toady I started on my new cab. I gutted the inside out made a floor and sealed it all up. The "Great Stuff" is some great stuff lol does a real nice seal job and isulates as well for sound. I'm gonna line my box that has the fan with it to reduce vibration noise. I'll have pics of the cab in progress tommorow while I'm off finishing it. I'm not quite sure how to put the door in it. I mean I know how to do it but I don't know how I'm gonna seal up the door when its closed. I guess I'll work that problem out when I get to it. My plan is to hopefully transfer the plants in the new cab by tommorow night.

Ok I said I wanted the ladies in the dresser by tonight but last night I got it 80% done and stuck them in there already. Temps are a bit higher right now but I don't have ventlation until tommorow when I get paid. I'll post some pics when the lights come on later tonight.

Alright just got back from Best Buy picked up two pc fans wired em both up. The back of the box says they are 37cfm which seems a lil high for such small fans. My dresser is 18cf so 4 of these will work perfect. Two intakes at the bottom and two exhausts up top. I'm going to be putting those homemade carbon filters on all fans to eliminate light leaks. Everything should be sealed up and finished by this weekend. Pics later tonight!!!

UPDATE:

Aight guys these pics are from last night which was day 25,18. I got the dresser just about finished. All thats left to be done is cut a door in the side of it, seal up any light leaks I can find, glue the rest of the drawer fronts up, and buy two more pc fans. I rigged up contractor bags to cover the dresser during lights off period, till I get it 100% sealed. The plants are looking great. The haze plant is starting to hold her leaves up a little more. Still no hairs I'm hoping by friday I have some. Temps are 84 I hope to get them down a little more with the addition of the other two fans. Next water I will be giving a light dose of flower nutes and full strength superplant tonic. Also now that I have enough room I will be upping the pot sizes probably next week. I gotta go buy another bag of soil so I gotta work the weekend thats coming up. Other than that here are the pics hope you like.

Thanks mammath. I'm loving the new set up man its soooooooooo much easier to access the plants. Smell is cut in half about. I don't if there is something wrong with my full size filter or something but you can hardly smell it when your in the closet and thats just with one of those homemade filters. I'm going to be adding another when I get paid again to knock the smell completely out . I'm seeing preflowers on all plants tonight. No hairs but deffinate female preflowers. Males I've noticed have more ball shape when they are first coming out. These are pointed at the end (I love having a scope now lol) so it looks like 100% females. The GWS has two shoots that I'm going to be cloning in the next couple days. They are about 4 inches long right now. Probably gonna wait till they hit 6 inches should be about two days.

They are fem seeds so if I don't get all females I think I just might take a trip to the uk and find Green House Seeds and burn them down mwahahahaha lol not really. I would be pretty pissed off to find I paid more for fem seeds and got males.

Yep sure did. Thats the best place to buy seeds if you ask me. They come super fast and if they aren't on your doorstep with in 21 days another package is shipped out (of course you have to pay extra for this option not much like 11.00)

Although I have to say after reading all the b/s about green house seed company I won't be ordering from them again. Apprently they steal their genetics and not breed their own. They are a lil pricey to. Next order will be Purple Wreck from Reservda Privida off of The Attitude. Hope this helps g.

UPDATE:

Day 27/20, Alright guys I'm 100% sure all females no hairs yet but I can deffinately tell they are calyxes (sp) in the making. Gigabud and Haze both got small dose of Super Plant Tonic and Flower Power. The GWS is a slow drinker so I'll wait till she is thirsty to water. Temps staying pretty steady 82-85. The carbon filter is working a little better now it just needed some time to get broken in I think. I put a little oil burner on top of the dresser and keep it light and you can't smell anything but apple cinnamon lol. Pics tommorow night when lights come on.

Great progress pics!!!...Really giving me confidence for my 1st grow attempt .I'm in day 4 and have no clue what to expect on a day-to-day progress.... was discouraged at how slow my little one is growing until i saw your pics....hopefully will pick up in days to come like yours....Keep up the good work!
