When would you say the best time to harvest is?

I though I knew, until I did more reading. I've heard people say that you harvest when 75% of the hairs are amber. I've heard some say to harvest when 10% of the trichomes are amber. I've also heard people say to harvest when 40-50% of the trichomes are amber. It's so confusing, because there's a decent difference between the three. What do you guys think?

When time come i look for 50-75% of the hair are brown but i also look at the trichomes about 50% milkey white to amber for the best high but never let the trichomes change to amber because that when there dieing off and the thc count will lower alot. hope that help. also the more you try you'll get to know what the best time for your strain's. Strain make alot of thing change.

Much more accurate to go with the trichromes rather than the hairs.
All depends on the type of high your looking for. When you harvest with the majority of the trichomes cloudy and less amber, you get more of a energetic head high. If you wait for the majority to turn amber you get more of a body stone-couch lock.

So if I notice even one amber trichome tomorrow when the light comes on, I better hurry the hell up and harvest?

About 60% of the hairs are amber.

I grew 1 mid size plant. starting at 25% brown hairs I harvest a few good buds. I did this every few day taking note of the % of brown vs white untill the buds hit 75%. then harbest the rest.

after curring the first high of the day smoke a diff %. after awhile you'll know.

Brah, you are GRAVELY mistaken!!! Not all strains apply, but amber trichs are wen the bud has finally matured. Trust me, no one on here stands a chance of over ripening their bud (if that is truly even possible). All one is gonna do by lettin more trichs turn amber is end up w/BETTER, stronger (more valuable), BUD!
I wud like to know where ya heard amber trichs lower THC count, cause that source needs to be seriously corrected!

It was all good.

25 % was smoke some and get shit done. (head high) & (chaty kathy)

40% - 60% is a nive most times buzz (nise mellow buzz)

75% - if you set too long you might just wake up in a hour. (nappy)

For strain #1

sim fo #3 & 5 but less than 45% was weak. So this one goes at 60% -75%

you need o read alot more and if you what to know where my information came from it jorge rx in HT in october 2008 page 104 so read it and then talk. thank's that the end of this little problem.
