True or false about brownies?

yo does anyone cook the herb in oil for a few minutes and then strain so that you have just the oil and THC? Thats always how i've known to do it, don't have the earthly taste and still get baked.

the word on the street says that you need something with fat -- butter is usually the prescription -- to bind w/ the thc. i assume oil would work, but i hear things like margarine will not. i think some of my strongest brownies have come from me slightly browning some herb in a pan w/ butter, then pouring that butter into my brownie batter & voila!

I don't understand how this works. Most brownies are baked at 450 degrees and you have to add the buds to butter, won't the heat ravage and plunder the THC content?

No, because the thc is trapped in the batter which acts as an insulation. The THC is activated (good), but cannot burn off (even better). :peace:

Here's the dope.

Take whatever grade of pot you've got, break it up a bit and toss it into a crock pot with a a large block of butter. A pound's good. Maybe even half-pound if you don't have a bunch of herb.

Turn it on the lowest setting and let it roll for 23 hours. Stir every time you walk past, but don't get neurotic about it.

Strain, using a rice strainer and an old T-shirt. Remember to squeeze out the herb, and then wring the hell out of the cloth. Let the fatty stuff solidify in the fridge, and pour off the water. You can get a cheap gravy separator for this step, they save effort.

Add to your favorite recipe as normal. The THC will survive the oven.

Rent "Spaceballs" and relax.

Brownies are great for guerrilla stones..... no better way to go to a theme park or concert or something like that.

I've always understood that you should use a crock-pot to make cannabutter because boiling is too aggressive on the THC and causes it to break down. Cannabutter also is a better alternative to grinding the schwag because the oils in the butter surround the crystals containing the THC to protect them better from heat during the baking process. If you use the crock-pot method, use enough water to cover your ground up leaves, stems, popcorn buds. Then add the amount of butter you would like. I only use 1/2 pound of butter. Cook on low with the lid on for 2 hours. Refrain from lifting the lid too much because that does allow steam to escape from the pot and cools it a bit. But make sure you do stir it occassionally. Then cook on high for 2 hours, again stirring occassionally. Then strain the butter with 3 layers of cheesecloth to collect the schwag. Make sure you squeeze it out well. Place butter in refrigerator until cold and firm. The butter will settle to the top and the water settles below. Remove the layer of butter to keep, making sure you get all the good little bits from the sides (that's the best part). Then throw out the water. The butter should be slightly green. Use the butter in the recipe as you would use butter in any other recipe. It taste great in Rice Crispy treats too.

Do you remember how much time and patience it takes to grow your buds to smoke? Just think about that and then remember how little time it takes to just do the brownies right and make the cannabutter first. Also, brownies will NEVER be brownies w/out butter or eggs. Maybe Egg-beaters would work.

Kief is another way to add the secret ingredient. You can mix it into water-based concoctions that don't use butter.
