No worries man....You gotta start somewhere...

My first 2 grows were with 6 15W 18" Fluorescent tubes
check my signature....

It works.....And its a cheap way start....I spent maybe $80 on my first grow.

$$ MONEY $AVING TIP $$
I used old PC fans and old 12V adapters for my intake and exhaust.
Cost=FREE

Good Luck man!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the money saving tips. I have two old comps I'm planing on taking fans out of. Both for exhaust as my main chamber is not air tight. Flowering chamber will be light proof though.:bigjoint:

Thanks everyone! Here are some pics, not the best but they will have to do for now. I will try and take better ones in a couple of days. Found camera but the battery keeps dying. I need to find the charger. Temps are higher than displayed on thermometer around 83 degrees. Set it outside the box for a min for watering.

Red Dragon- The parentage of this line is exotic ? a West Himalayan Kush crossed with a true breeding Brazilian sativa. (Utopia Haze) ?These buds have a distinct and immediate, exotic sativa high, but is followed minutes later by a wonderful undertow of a solid Kush stone that lasts and lasts. Finished buds have a taste and smell of sweet guava fruit.Red Dragon grows medium short, (80cm) and produces heavy colas of unique red/green buds.Flowering time is short ( max ? 9 weeks) giving big yield of highly prized product, that finishes by mid to end September.Type: Indica / Sativa Genetics: Brazilian. Afghani Yield: Optimum indoor. 500 gr/m2 Indoor Height: 55 ? 65 cm Indoor flowering time: 65 to 75 days Outdoor harvest time: Mid/End SeptemberTHC: 23%CBD: 1.2%

Super Lemon Haze- The Super Lemon Haze has won the 2008 High Times Cannabis Cup with a landslide of votes. Between the many reasons: its incredibly intense lemony flavour, with a strong haze background. It?s a sharp and intense taste, which reminds of lemon, lime and pink grapefruit, followed by a very earthy and musky haze aftertaste, with traces of incense and black pepper. The effect is very balanced; it starts with a quick indica-hit feeling that softly moves to a very strong high, with a social and creative side. The Super Lemon Haze is a very smooth compromise between the great qualities of its parents. It has 9-10 weeks flowering time, and a very typical Christmas tree shape. Plants tend to grow quite tall, but the internodes are not too far apart, and allow easy topping. The leaves are very sativa-like, while bud formation comes dense and has a high calyx-to-leaf ratio. The Super Lemon Haze is very effective both indoors and outdoors, and responds very well to high-EC hydro systems as well as organic soil setups. When cultivated in soil, the spectrum of terpens is more developed and gives an extra lemony flavour. The THCis high at over 22%, ensuring a very psychedelic experience to even the most experienced smokers.Awards: 1st prize HTCC 2008Genetics: Lemon Skunk x Super Silver HazeEffect: A very lemony haze, works fast and lasts long. It?s a very powerful high, very balanced between a physical and a cerebral side.Flowering indoor: 9-10 weeks with a production up to 700 gr/sqmFlowering outdoor: Finishes end October in northern hemisphere, production up to 1000 gr/plant.THC: 22.9%

THE FIRST TWO HAVE BEEN SPROUTED - BELOW ARE THE CANNABISDATES UP FOR ELECTION!

Chocolate Chunk- This is real candy! With a definitive Kush bottom this pure Indica will melt in your mouth and stick to your hands. Thick, deep- green leaves and fat dense buds will make every trip to the grow room feel like you are , "a kid in a candy store." Chocolate Chunk is quite easy to grow due to it?s quick flowering time and "single cola" growth pattern. Works great with the Sea of Green Method.Type: pure IndicaHeight: 100-125 cmYield: 350-400 p.s.m.Flowering Time: 55-60 days

Sensi Star- Sensi Star is one of the strongest Indica?s you will ever encounter. It?s a great plant, producing powerful and very compact buds, crowned with legendary amounts of resin. Although mostly indica, she retains a complex high that warps both body and soul. Introduced in 1995, this strain?s stability was improved in 1997 to deliver a strong plant with big fan leaves and nice thick buds.Sensi Star works well in a sea of green set-up with 20 plants per square meter potted close together. It is best to let them grow for approximately 2 weeks before entering the 12/12 light cycle. If the strong side branching is allowed to remain and flower, she needs a little extra space. Hydroponic and soil methods are equally suitable. Prospects for gardening this plant outdoors are good in temperate zones, where she will reach approximately 2 meters (6 feet) and produce an average of 400 grams in a successful season. This headstrong indica produces rock hard colas that have a lemony / metal scent and taste. This strong characteristic aroma speaks for itself. Some smokers find the buzz to be a very strong body stone, while others report a high with more energetic cerebral properties as well as a body sensation. THClevels have been reported at 20 percent for this variety, making it a one-hitter quitter. She is one of the worlds finest cannabis strains.· Winner 1st prize Highlife Cannabis Cup 1999 (Bio category)· Winner 1st prize High Times Cannabis Cup 1999 (Indica category)· Winner 2nd prize High Times Cannabis Cup 2000 (Indica category)· Plant of the Year 2003, High Times magazine· Winner 1st prize Highlife Cannnabis Cup 2004 (Bio category)Type: Mostly Indica with a hint of SativaFlowering: 56-63 days indoors. Outdoors beginning of October (n.L.)Yield: 350-450 g per m2 indoors. Outdoor 400 ? 500 grams per plantEnvironment: Indoors. Outdoors between 50º n.L. and 50º s.L.Effect/Buzz: strong body high possible cerebral effectSmell/Taste: pungentTHC: 16 ? 20%

Connie Chung- The parents of this strain speak for themselves? The classic L.A. flavor X the old school G13 Haze!! This strain varies in finishing times; some finishing in 8 but mostly 9 weeks is good with the odd plant going 10 weeks. We feel if you happen to find a pheno that goes over 10 weeks it?s not really worth the extra time and thus becomes undesirable. This cross has proved to be a heavy hitter, and guarantees to make you "Chineese"!!Type: Indica/SativaSpecifics: L.A. Confidential/female X G13 Haze/fatherIndoor Flowering time: 9/10 weeksIndoor Yield: 400/500

LA Woman (Feminized)- The LA Woman is a match of two multi-award winning strains. She is great tasting and very strong. The L.A. Woman flowers a week longer than the original L.A., but a week shorter than the Martian Mean Green, making it a well balanced cross time wise. The taste is sweet and robust with the flavor lasting well after the exhale. The L.A. Woman is quicker to veg than the Original L.A., and her yield is almost double! This cross grows like an indica with one main cola and little side branching, and will work well for sea-of-green. With her incredible smell and strength, it?s hard to go wrong with this cross. People will be satisfied by the bag appeal and frostiness keeping all who try her begging for more. The LA Woman stays short, and if you feed her heavily, the buds pack on the weight early and finish in the best part of 9 weeks. Don?t be afraid to thin the large fan leaves in the 5th week or so. This will allow the light to penetrate the canopy and reach the lower sites and will be replaced within a week. Look for your flavor, is it LA you?re after, or Martian? Or maybe it?s a little of both, you make the call with this one.Martian Mean Green x LA Confidential70% Indica : 30% SativaFlowering Time: 9 weeksYield: 450-600g/m2

Thanks Howard,

No worries. I will be using cfls, 26w veg 5000k. 2 over seedlings keeps temp around 80 - 85 degrees for now. 30w for flower 2700k. I plan on using 6 - 8 for flower. Forget the exact lumen numbers but, I should be ok.
Sounds like you are off to a great start. Good luck keeping it hidden from the wife. With the cabinet dimensions you described, are you planning on doing any lst with the mothers?

I would suggest keeping the remainder of your budget set aside for odor control. If you haven't planned that out yet, some of these links may be helpful:

Well, it's been an event full week. On the 6th RD was fine, but the next day was tragic for this young one. I think I overwatered it. It was very droopy, then dried out over the following few days. The stem has not dried out yet, so I am trying to get it to come back. I have hope, but being realistic and it's not looking to good. On the other hand, Hazle appears to be healthy. I will be posting pics later. I have added Connie, my Connie Chung seedling to the veg chamber, she is two days old now, which has replaced RD. I got my hands on a few other strains as well. Kali Dream (Kalimist x Dreamweaver) and Flashback, from someone for the dirt, couldn't pass it up. I have started 2 of each in some peat pellets. I have Killing Kush on the way as well. I bought with my victory money.(Beat few friends in a poker game for some extra dough.) I have decided on a scrubber to build for my flowering chamber and possibly the veg chamber depending on the cost. That is all for now. I will be posting pics later so stay tuned and comment!

Great pics! I wish I had that kind of money to spend! LOL! Plus I could'nt keep $450 from my wife right now. I had an extra $100 but she got it. Played a tight game of hold em. $5 buy-in with $20 re-buy. I never had to re-buy and pocketed $180. I was going to give her $80 but I pulled out the $100 first.

What did you do to cut cost for a grow that size?

Hey whats up really. Lookin good so far man
I would suggest moving the light just a little closer to them because they appear to be stretching a bit.
Oh and I saw you had quite a few strains going. Good luck, I have a hard time keeping to many mothers in a small space. They get big real quick. I bet you end up picking your favorite one or two after a while.
Good luck with your grow
