Is bloodmeal good to use?

I am planting in several holes outside and I am wondering what the benefit of bloodmeal is? Also I am curious to know how much should I use per hole? they are dug to hold about 5 gallons of soil.

Its a good fertilizer. Its blood! So critters smelll it and want to dig where they smell it. DNT USE IT!

I've heard the same and bone meal too.

Yes, it is a good fert, but strictly nitrogen so if you do use it...put it down deep (read above) and make sure to use other ORGANIC fert's with it.
