When To Start your The Vegatative State

I have a few seedlings I started a week ago. Once they sprouted I put them under constant light. So when should I put them under the vegetative light cycle?

Well, you have them in a vegetative light cycle now, with 24 hours light. You can leave them on that or go to 18.

If you mean the flowering light cycle (12/12), that can start any time, but the longer you wait (up to a point) the better the yield.

Actually, I was wondering when I should start them on the 18 hour cycle.

I did not know if it would harm them to be in the 24 hour cycle too long, or if they benefited it for a certain amount of time.

I have read in the Mary Jane Growers bible that the plants will grow faster by 30% under 24hrs of light then 18 hrs of light.
Mine have been under 24 hrs of light for almost 4 weeks now. I can tell that the are growing faster.

Keep them on 24/7 or put them on 18/6... Those cycles are pretty much the same but some people believe roots mature faster in the dark when the plant is not putting its energy into photosynthetic tasks. Personally I haven't had a chance to test this... I plan on doing some experiments later once i have larger grow spaces.

I personally use 24/7 lighting when I'm vegging, do what you think is best.
